Shoojit Sircar and Ronnie Lahiri’s new production, under their banner Rising Sun Films, Running Shaadi.com has just gone on the floors in Amritsar. Directed by first-timer Amit Roy, the film stars Amit Sadh and Taapsee Pannu in the lead and will be primarily shot in Punjab.Co-produced by Crouching Tiger Motion Pictures, Running Shaadi.com is a youth romantic comedy centered around this website which helps people elope and get married. Delving deep into the minds of India’s young, especially in the smaller towns, the film is intelligently entertaining with an array of endearing characters.Debutant Director Amit Roy has previously worked as a cinematographer for filmmakers like Ram Gopal Varma (Sarkar) and Rohan Sippy (Dum Maaro Dum). Running Shaadi.com will be his first venture as a Director. The film's leading man, Amit Sadh, who has been a rage on television, had a successful switch to the big screen earlier this year with Kai Po Che. He will romance Taapsee Pannu, who is already a big name down South and was the cynosure of all eyes in David Dhawan's remake of Chashme Baddoor recently.Having made two back-to-back hits like Vicky Donor and Madras Cafe, Shoojit is now supporting new directors to realise their dreams under his banner.“Amit Roy is a friend for many years so when he came to me with this script, I thought it was very interesting and a sweet love story which we decided to produce under our banner, Rising Sun Films. Few months back rumours were abuzz that filmmaker Punit Malhotra and Sonam Kapoor were hot couple; however, they said to have had a nasty break-up. Meanwhile, the two always kept mum about the whole thing since the start, and if believe Punit, there was never anything between them at all, as he claims that he was never in a relationship with any actress.Punit’s directorial Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is all set to release soon, and it stars his I Hate Luv Storys’ lead actor Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Nowadays both the actors are busy promoting the film worldwide. Here is what Punit said regarding his relationship status. "No, I did not date any actress. I am saying this on the record," Punit said. "I did not have strained relations with anyone, any actor. I am friendly with Sonam. I hope to work with her in future. It is all rubbish. You get up in the morning, see the newspapers, read articles and you find it funny. You wonder what they were wondering while writing this story. There is nothing else that you can do about it," he added. Well, it’s good that he thought to clear the air!

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is quite a task-maker and everyone is well-aware of the fact. His upcoming film is Ram-Leela, which stars actors like Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Richa Chadda, who was appreciated for her act in Gangs of Wasseypur and Fukrey.While promoting the film recently, Richa was all praises for her director. ''I learnt a lot from Sanjay Sir. Working with him, I learnt that one must work hard every day, one should be always grounded & have craving for knowledge. One must always be humble in order to grow and become a better person and better actor. One should never let ego clash into one's craft or let petty distractions lose the focus because eventually it will affect your performance,'' says the 24-year old actress.Everyone knows that SLB keeps on losing temperament and even Deepika faced his wrath, however, Richa didn’t become victim of SLB's stringency or temper. ''Fortunately all of my directors have been tough taskmasters....Bhansali sir may be known for his eccentricity and temper but I felt nothing of that sort or came across that side of his. He was, on the contrary, very understanding and loving. He would scream at the whole world except me,'' says Richa. Ram-Leela is all set to release on November 15, 2013.

Veteran actress Madhoo, who is eyeing to make comeback in Bollywood films, says she would like to do work that has been done by actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor. She is looking to take up challenging work.She is known for her work in films like Roja, Diljale and Phool Aur Kaante. Madhoo has already started working down South."My south films have started releasing. One film released last month and did 50 days run, so I believe it's a hit. I have signed a couple of films and will start shooting soon. I have started acting again and I am enjoying that. Hopefully I will do a Hindi film soon, waiting for right movie to come to me," said Madhoo. The actress would love to take up interesting film offers and wishes that filmmakers approach her with variety of scripts. "I don't want to say things and limit myself as an actress. I am at a juncture in my life where I can explore and do many different things. I would want producers and creative people to think of something really challenging and wonderful for me as an actress," Madhoo said."When you are younger and playing a heroine, at that time things are pretty similar - like falling in love with the hero and getting married in the end. But now the movies and characterization are different. I can do many more things than I did earlier in my life. It is like Chintuji Amitji, like they are doing fantastic roles now. Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who has been a vital actress in the Bollywood industry has done various kinds of roles in her career and is currently settling for the role of a filmmaker, with her movie Dishkiyaaoon in line. The actress says that she won’t act for the other 18 months, till the time her son Viaan doesn’t start understanding her work.The actress said, “I will take At least another year-and-a-half... till Viaan is able to communicate with me and understands my work. Then may be I will think of doing a film.”Shilpa is seen on the small screens now-a-days and is also seen doing many endorsements. The actress was last seen as the judge of the dance reality show Nach Baliye 5 and is gearing up to judge another season of the show.She said, “TV is easier, and for endorsements, I can command when I want to work. It's kind of suited to my current role - being a mother, the most wonderful role of my life. I am enjoying it.”She has taken a sabbatical from the industry as films take a lot of time, and she needs to give time to her son as well. She said, “Honestly, it is a self-imposed sabbatical. My priority definitely is Viaan at the moment. I haven't thought about films really, it's just too time consuming.”Talking about her production Dishkiyaaoon, the action thriller stars Harman Baweja and Sunny Deol in the lead roles. Young director Punit Malhotra, I Hate Luv Storys fame, is working with filmmaker Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for the second time. He is completing in Karan’s impression and praises him as an easygoing producer.He is collaborated with Karan again for Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, which stars Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead. Speaking about the work pattern of KJo’s production unit, Punit said, “As a producer Karan is lenient enough to give you whatever you want. The advantage is that he is also a director. As far as the space is concerned, he didn't come on the sets even once. As a producer, he gives you everything you want.”Earlier, Punit has attended Karan as his assistant in his hit film Kal Ho Na Ho and Dostana. About his upcoming directorial, he says GTPM is a wholesome entertainment which pulls a universal audience. But he is not targeting Rs.100-crore marks. “Rs.100 crore depends on a lot of factors. The canvas of the film leads it to that zone. Ours is definitely not in that zone. It's a fun film,” concluded Punit.Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is releasing on November 22 and the lead actors are currently busy in promotional activities. They have visited television shows like Comedy Nights with Kapil, Kone Banega Crorepati among mores.

Bollywood is reeling with shock over the fallout between actor Sushant Singh Rajput filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor. It has been buzzing that former has refused to do latter’s film citing his date issues. Sushant was launched by Abhishek amidst full fanfare in commercially successful film Kai Po Che. The actor, later, went ahead to sign two major films, Shuddh Desi Romance (released with descent reviews) and Peekay (Aamir Khan’s ambitious project likely to release in next year).However, it is reported that Sushant has snubbed Abhishek, his mentor, for other projects. “Sushant stabbed his mentor by giving Aditya Chopra preference over him. And, even as we write, details of this guru-shishya estrangement are still tumbling out, said gossipmongers.A close friend of Abhishek said, “Abhishek was shocked when he heard that he would have to wait in queue for Sushant's dates. Megastar Shah Rukh Khan was recently invited to the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), where he said that he is looking forward to take Bengali lessons from actress-politician Jaya Bachchan, as he wants to be a true Bengali."Thank you Kolkata for adopting me and giving me the opportunity to be here. I have been coming here for the last three years and I promise you next time I am here I will speak in Bengali so Jaya aunty feels I am truly, truly from Kolkata then. I will come to you and learn from you. So next time when you stand on stage I will be a true Bengali and welcome everyone," said the actor at the event. One may recall that during the inaugural ceremony Jaya Bachchan had said that her hubby Amitabh Bachchan, SRK, and Kamal Haasan are non-real Bengalis. For those unaware, SRK is also the brand ambassador of West Bengal, and he hoped that such festival assist in giving a boost to Indian films."Festivals like this one express collective happiness over life, I think. I hope creative interactions of this scale help Indian films reach the height that great filmmakers present tonight, and those who passed away, like the wonderful Rituparno, dreamt of for Indian film," Khan added.

Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji shared great rapport with late filmmaker Yash Chopra, and even though it has been one year since his passing, she is still not comfortable talking about him in past tense. "I don't like to talk about Yash uncle in past tense. He is a living legend and will always be there in our hearts and lives," Rani said.The actress was speaking at a function where the inaugural National Yash Chopra Memorial Award was presented to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar on Saturday. The event was also attended by Chopra’s widow Pamela. "She (Mangeshkar) is the most deserving recipient of the award. They had an emotional connect," said Rani."It has been a year since Yash uncle passed away, but the young generation will remember him through this award and his films. Lataji was down with fever and doctors had advised her rest, but she still came for the function. Even though Salman Khan has worked with renowned filmmakers liked Karan Johar  and Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Saawariya, respectively, but now the two of them have not worked with the actors since quite some time.And this fact came out on his television show Bigg Boss 7 when Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan came on the show to promote their upcoming film Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, directed by Punit Malhotra.It started when Salman quizzed Kareena whether she is punctual on her film’s sets. The actress replied saying, ''Just like you, I also come late on the sets.'' This statement made Salman immediately comment, ''Because of actresses like you, a professional actor like me has a bad name in the industry. Everyone thinks I come late.'' He further added, ''That is the reason why directors like Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and all these people don't want to work with me. Not fair. You are spoiling my name, reputation.'' Hope KJo and SLB are paying attention to this. We wonder if they soon offer him their next directorial!

Filmmaker Punit Malhotra, whose directorial Gori Tere Pyaar Mein releases soon, says that he wanted the film to be a two-hero two-heroine, and for the same, he wanted Saif Ali Khan to be the other hero, besides Imran Khan. "At one point of time this film was a two hero-two heroine subject. I only went to the boys. It was Saif and Imran. But for some reasons that didn't work out. I then made it into a solo hero film," says Punit. After making debut with I Hate Luv Storys, Punit took quite long to come up with his next."Imran made me wait a lot. I took three drafts to him, he had issues with first and second draft. When I went for the third time, he approved the first draft only. That led to the delay but I have no complaints," said Punit. Meanwhile, rumours had that Shahid Kapoor was approached for the project.Speaking on the same, Punit said that he did approach another actor, but denied naming him. "Imran initially rejected it, so I went to another actor, but that didn't work out and I made the changes in the script and went back to Imran and then he liked the first draft itself," he said.He also revealed that Saif rejected the offer. "Things with Saif never worked out, but he said take Kareena. We also felt at some point that there is too much happening, so we mellowed it down and made it one hero film," Punit said."We were first waiting for Imran's approval and after that happened, we started thinking about the female lead opposite him. Imran asked me who I wanted, I said Kareena but I felt she was beyond my reach," the director said."Also she had lot of projects in hand at that time. Then it so happened that she walked out of those projects and her dates opened up. I called her, narrated the script and it worked out well," he said. Gori Tere Pyaar Mein releases on November 22!

Film industry’s well-known director Krishna Shah has recently died on October 13. Veteran actress Zeenat Aman, who had worked with the filmmaker in film Shalimar, says he was a warm and hospitable man, who loved cinema and was always excited about the new projects.The 61-year-old actress about her coordinal terms with Krishna Shah said, “I met Krishna Shah for the last time about eight to nine months ago at his home in Juhu where he had a get-together for close friends. He was his usual friendly effusive self, looking after all his guests personally, making sure everyone was comfortable. Krishna Shah was a very warm and hospitable man. I had great fun shooting Shalimar with him. My god that was 35 years ago, it seems like yesterday.”She added that Shalimar was made simultaneously in Hindi and English and with international stars of the calibre of Rex Harrison and Gina Lolobrigida. “Off course, Gina later backed out, and we had Sylvia Miles instead. In fact, the film created a whole lot news and speculation even before we began shooting. I remember we were in Bangalore for the shooting in two languages English and Hindi. Dharamji (her co-star Dharmendra) and I were burning the midnight oil. When we were not shooting, he was with his English tutor brushing up his English dialogues, and I was with my Hindi tutor improving my Hindi,” Zeenat recalled.Zeenat added that Krishna was caring person who always made sure all of us were comfortable. “He loved cinema. I remember once when we met, he spent considerable time speaking of my cameo in Bhopal Express. He would always be excited about the next film that he was doing, and then the one after that... He would discuss the movies he wanted me to be in.”The film Shalimar might not have worked at the box office, but the songs by RD Burman play on to this day. They were like Aaina Wohi Rehta Hai, Hum Bewafaa Hargiz Na The and One Two Cha Cha Cha.
