Hailing from a middle class family of Haryana, where girls were not allowed to do job, and working in film industry is like a taboo, Mallika Sherawat, originally named as Reema Lamba, dared to pursue her dream of becoming an actress and is engaging it with a proud in her heart. Though she’s not accepted yet by her father, a conservative man, she finds their substitute in her brother Vikram, who she calls her soul mate.Mallika, pouring her heart out, said how difficult it is for a girl to face sociality if her family is not standing for her. She says her father hasn’t accepted her with her job yet. “A couple of years back, there was an assassination attempt on me for saying that in Haryana, women are treated like cattle at which point my brother got worried and shifted in with me to look after me. My father's relatives would have taunted him and said, badchallan hai, family ke muh pe kala daag hai, but I still felt very alone and hurt as anything could have happened to me then but still he did not call me.”She goes on, “Now that I am more mature, there is no resentment, but there is still anger and lot of hurt in me. My brother Vikram has always been attached to me and is my soulmate. After a while I started seeing my father in him and he became my pillar of strength. So much time has gone by and God has given you so much but you never recover from that pain. It's difficult to get over my father's betrayal as a protector that you expect as a young girl. I am his blood and who else can you look up to if not your own father?”Mallika is next to be seen in TV show The Bachelorette India-Mere Khayalo Ki Mallika, starting from Oct 7 on Life OK.

Elli Avram, the actress and model of Swedish-Greek origin, who has been eliminated from the Bigg Boss - Saath 7 house can't hide her gratitude for the warmth that the reality show's host and Bollywood star Salman Khan's extended to her during the show."I don't know why he was so nice to me. He is a big superstar. And his kindness meant a lot to me. I think he sensed that I was all alone in Bigg Boss house. The only foreigner. He helped me feel comfortable in Bigg Boss by just the way he spoke to me. Of course, I soon became comfortable in there. I've learnt a lot of Hindi in there," said Elli, who was evicted on Saturday.Elli comes out from Bigg Boss with a good feeling about most of the inmates. "My friends say, I find everyone to be good and likeable. But I can't help it. I don't have unkind thoughts about anyone inside the Bigg Boss house. Yes, there were stressful moments and ugly scenes with some of them. But it was soon okay," she added.Elli wants to connect with her friends Hazel Keech and Ratan Rajput whom she bonded with good friendship during the show.

The women centric show Sasural Simar Ka on Colors has currently been revolving around the character of Jhanvi, played by Falaq Naaz. The actress has been receiving rave review for her portrayal and says it has now become my identity. She added that the show is a turning point for her career.An elated Falaq, about the popularity said, “It has been a very good experience. Initially Jhanvi was negative but now she has turned positive and now I can relate myself to the character of Jhanvi. Jhanvi has now become my identity. Recently few people recognized me as Jhanvi in a market and they asked me, Are you Jhanvi? People have lots of sympathy towards Jhanvi and I am loving it.”The actress admits that her character is quite similar to her. “I am finding it very easy to get myself involved in this character. She is a very emotional girl like me. I think 80% of Jhanvi is within me.”Falaq feels the show is a turning point for her career. “Playing Jhanvi in Sasural Simar Ka is a very big turning point for my career. We share food with each other and eat together. We spend good time together and we visit each other’s place in Eid or in Diwali. Both of us also go for shopping together sometimes. Nowadays super-hero flicks have become such a rage, and every next actor wants to be part of it, hence Hollywood actor Tom Hanks is no exception, as he too is keen on exploring his options in this genre. You must know that Hanks has never been part of any superhero film; however that doesn’t mean he doesn’t intend to.While speaking to the sources recently, he revealed that so far no one has asked him to do such role, however, if given the chance, he would happily bag the offer. Recently a fan quizzed him, why he never took any such role, to which he replied, "They don't ask me, man. I keep trying. Come on, I can do it. I can do it. Even let me play a bad guy, let me play the bad guy against Batman. I'll do anything, call me. They've never asked. What do I gotta do? God, I want to throw a shield at somebody.""I want that. And I don't want to play the guy in the suit who tells the superheroes what's going on, I don't want to be that guy. 'Well, you know 'Batman', 'Captain America', 'Iron Man', here's what we've discovered,' I don't want to be that guy. I want to get in there, I want to play 'The Flash' or something like that. Let me start admitting here about Naked Harbour (Vousaari) not being an Artsy film at all. To some point, the film surely follows the lines and impact of Alejandro González Iñárritu's Babel (2007) and Paul Haggis Crash (2004). Aku Louhimies Naked Harbour features an interesting yet strong emotional theme of intersecting characters and plot-lines.The film follows inside-out look of 8 stories and their characters who is an American visiting the city on business, A junkie couple struggling to pay off a thug, A 16 year old girl who will go to any length for fame, a bullied Russian immigrant boy, a couple whose marriage is falling apart, a schoolboy whose only friend is his dog, A father who projects his body issues onto his teenage son, and a young single mother undergoing chemotherapy.Every character is undergoing some form of problems and non-acceptance in his/her life.  And at times the film is genuinely heart-breaking, particularly the story-lines dealing with children.The only story which was not convincing enough according to me was of the American who is on a business tour in the city. Yes there is a heavy amount of sex in the film but it's dealt in a convincing way. All the stories and performances in the film are outstanding. The story that really hit me to tears was about the Mother-Daughter relationship where the mother is undergoing chemotherapy, The 16 year old girl who wants just one shot to fame and the schoolboy and his only best friend which is a Dog.Prolific Film maker Aku Louhimies has extracted wonderful performances from all the actors and have presented a film that questions your inner soul at times. The Background Score, Production Values, Camera Work and Editing rises the top position while you are watching this beautiful journey of Finland and its people.Naked Harbour (Vuosaari) is not a film that should be missed. The film is surely a film that will make you discuss on a longer period of time even after you have left the auditorium. Two Thumbs Up for this Aku Louhimies masterpiece!

Son of veteran actor-comedian Jagdeep, actor Javed Jaffrey claims that he never used his father’s name to get work in the film industry. The multi-talented chap is known for his roles in films like 100 Days, Fire, Earth, Salaam Namaste, Singh is Kingg and 3 Idiots and others."Being the son or daughter of a legendary film personality you get more respect. But I have never used that as an influence to enter industry. It is not that I got work because of him. My father did not do a film for me or launched me, he wanted us to do things on our own," Javed said."Rather I never thought I will enter the film industry, it happened all by chance. Destiny played a part and brought me here in this industry," he said. Jaffrey is known for his versatility, as he has done positive, negative as well as comic roles. "I like to play all kind of roles. You can't do same stuff every time as it becomes boring. Comedy is my soft spot. But I love doing action, thriller, drama and negative. I am not comfortable with sexuality, intimate scenes," he said.Next, he will appear in debutante director Faraz Haider's War Chhod Na Yaar. "I am playing captain Qureshi from the Punjab region of Pakistan. So my tone in the film is Punjabi-Urdu. The film establishes relationship in an interesting way. I had great fun doing this film," he said.The film also stars Sharman Joshi and Soha Ali Khan!

Every wannabe becomes a serious Film Maker or a Film personality and you cannot do anything about it. I was very much active on my Facebook account, but believe me, not one single serious person approaches you with work or serious networking.
