Attending the three day fest, Cinema beyond Boundaries in New York, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar feels good with the international film dignities. He is exchanging notes with Hollywood directors, writers and music composers on understanding the global perspective in cinema. The director also said that Indian film industry and Hollywood can learn a lot from each other as the two industries seek to cater to the evolving nature of cinema.“There will be something that I take from them and they will take from us. While Hollywood has had a huge influence on the Indian industry, Bollywood and its actors too are garnering a lot of attention in the western film world,” said the filmmaker, who is well-known for his films like Chandni Bar, Page 3, Fashion and Heroine. The event would focus on the global influence of Indian cinema, forecast changes in the fast growing and rapidly evolving filmmaking industry. “Cinema has changed drastically over the years and films are now being made in different genres like commercial, edgy and radical to cater to the tastes of an evolving viewership,” he added.“Indian cinema is no more limited to audiences in India. We have viewers all around the world and hence understanding the global perspective is a must. Cinema Beyond Boundaries would get the viewers and the filmmakers together and would help us in serving them with good quality cinema,” Bhandarkar said. Well said Madhur Bhandarkar!

The multifaceted star, Farhan Khan has formed a rock band and has planned to tour with it, performing shows. Called Farhan Live, the nine-member band has been performing in different places around the world, including Goa (performance venue- the annual Carnival Celebrations of Goa, where around 15,000 people were gathered). Farhan along with music director Pritam also performed recently in Dubai.Singer-music composer Shankar Mahadevan's young son, Siddharth Mahadevan, who provided hit Bhaag Milkha Bhaag title track, is also touring with Farhan Akhtar's band and feels privileged to be working along with the star.An elated Siddharth shares, “This is really an unbelievable opportunity and I consider myself very fortunate and humbled to be a part of Farhan's tour. He's such an incredible all-round artist and just to share the same stage as him will be an honour in itself. I just want to get on there and do my best and enthral all my audiences to the best of my abilities!”Farhan Live comprises Shannon Donald (vocals), Sarosh Izedyar (lead guitarist), Dibyajyoti Nath (bass guitar) Darshan Doshi (drums) and Umaang Doshi (keyboard), among others. With world’s sexiest Asain women title for the fourth time, Katrina Kaif, seems getting too big to her moods. Known for her composed nature, something always appreciated by media, she recently came out throwing starry tantrums to all. During a promotional event for a jewellery brand in Dubai everyone got a taste of her mood swings.She kept the organizers and media person rescheduling her commitments until the frustrated media decided to call it a day. If this was not enough, Katrina made it clear that she would not answer any questions on steady date Ranbir Kapoor. The whole drama was followed by a test to her team, “Cancel all my one-on-one interviews.”As per the sources, “The scribes were stumped at this sudden turn of events and many decided to leave. For those who decided to stay back, it was a long wait. The diva made her grand appearance for the press con, scheduled at 2.30 pm, two hours late. It was brief and without meat. Next was a visit to the retail outlets. Katrina sent out another message asking her team to cancel the visit to the third venue because she wasn't happy with the security arrangements there.” The venue was located in the densely populated Meena Bazaar and following her concerns, the security was promptly doubled but the actress still refused to budge from her stand. The drama not ends here. When the day was about to end, Katrina had another change of heart. She messaged her team asking them to call all members of the press back to the first venue at 6.15 pm. By now the journalists had enough of her starry tantrums and when the star reached the venue hardly a handful had turned up, among them a leading TV channel. Spotting it, Katrina went into a tizzy again, stating that she was not prepared for interviews with the electronic media.That’s not appreciated!

After a long time, singer Sonu Nigam has composed music of any film album, and it is Sooper Se Ooper. However, as per the latest development, he is unhappy with the makers of the film, as he claims that Reliance Entertainment, the producers of the film, which releases on October 25, has not yet released its music."This is deliberate sabotage. No promotion, no publicity, they have not even given a letter of consent to T-Series so they can start playing the music on TV channels. I am furious with this step motherly treatment," said Nigam, while speaking to the sources. It is learnt that with the film, Sonu has collaborated with Bickram Ghosh, the classical and neo-fusion musician, for the first time. When sources got in touch with CEO of Reliance Entertainment, Sanjeev Lamba, he said, "All partners are meeting tomorrow to discuss the film's release. Till we agree on firm plans, it's premature to comment on this." Meanwhile, sources from T-Series, who have the music rights for the movie, said, "We are doing our bit and we have already started playing the film's music on our YouTube channel."We hope the proper steps would be taken!

The Ashtami celebrations at The North Bengal Sarbajanin Durga Puja at The Tulip Star, Juhu on 12th Oct, 2013, had celebrated Music composer, Pritam and his musicians enthrall the audience with a show that got everyone to their feet from the word go. The show had Pritam and his band belt out one hit number after another with performances from renowned singers- Rekha Bhardwaj, Harshdeep Kaur, Neeti Mohan, Ash King and Javed Ali among others. The energy of the performances soon spread to the audience who were on their feet as the singers came down and mingled with them. We saw some cool dance moves from directors Anurag Basu, Ayan Mukerji and their families while Pritam matched them step by step!!The stage is now set for none other than Sukhwinder Singh who will perform on Nobomi night-13th Oct, 2013.
