The Nordic Council of Ministers has initiated this comparative study of the political efforts to promote lifelong learning for all, including low-skilled labor, in the Nordic countries. The aim is to provide an overview of the political efforts and to create a basis for specific comparisons in order to support mutual inspiration and learning among the Nordic countries.
The study is based on the Nordic countries' development and implementation of political initiatives in three main areas concerning competence development:
The cooperation between authorities and social partners on adult and continuing education initiatives
The interaction between providers and businesses including guidance on adult and continuing education and competence development, and
Efforts to strengthen adults' key competencies in relation to
participation on the labor market and in society
Rannsóknarskýrsla frá Nationalt Center for Kompetanseudvikling í Danmörku. Skýrslan gefur yfirlit yfir ýmsar rannsóknir á áhrifum kennsluforms á námsáhuga fullorðinna.
In recent years, learning in working life has been launched as an important approach in relation to the urgent need for developing competence in our modern knowledge society. But what does it mean in practice? What can and what cannot be learned on the job; what is learned better at courses and schools; who is responsible for the learning, and who is to foot the bill?
Adult learning is frequently spoken of by adult educators as if it were a discretely separate domain, having little connection to learning in childhood or adolescence. This chapter will examine critically this claim
Gaman væri að sjá hvernig hann styður þetta með tilvitnunum í greinar og bækur sem halda þessu fram ;)
myths (which, taken together, comprise something of an academic orthodoxy in adult education) hold that adult learning is inherently joyful, that adults are innately self-directed learners, that good educational practice always meets the needs articulated by learners themselves and that there is a uniquely adult learning process as well as a uniquely adult form of practice.
