Steve Wozniak On How The iPhone 4S Will Change His Life (TCTV) | TechCrunch - 0 views

  •
Steve Wozniak likes to be the first person in line to buy the latest Apple products. This evening, the Apple co-founder and designer of the Apple i and ii, was #1 on line outside the Apple store in Los Gatos, California to get the iPhone 4S. He tweeted about it and he'll be staying up all night. TechCrunch TV caught up with Woz and asked him why he does it. He explains what feature the new phone has that will change his life. Woz also tells us why "search engines should be replaced by answer engines."

Teenagers Will, Like, Totally Abandon Facebook for Google+ - 0 views

  •
Shocking news: teenagers are actually considering spending less time on Facebook and more time on Google+. Why, you ask? Apparently, 10% of teenage Facebook users would leave all together, and as the annoyances (the example of the "news ticker" is given), the changes to Zuckerberg's legacy aren't exactly going over well with the younger generation. They REALLY hate the news ticker. Google+ has no plans to build a feature like such. Could that be what's drawing them over? i think so. Facebook had a good run, but maybe next time they try and make some changes to their site, they should test it out on some teens first.

Think You've Disabled Google's Web History Tracking? Check Again. | TechCrunch - 0 views

  •
Late Friday evening, i tweeted out that, for some reason unbeknownst to me, Google's Web History tracking "feature" (the one that keeps tabs on every search you've made for sake of tailoring ads to your tastes and/or creeping you out) had seemingly been enabled on my account. This wouldn't be too strange in most cases - as an opt-out service, Web History is enabled for everyone by default. The problem? i'd manually disabled it years ago.

New Social Network Combines Twitter, Blogging and Reddit - 0 views

  •
Meet Chime.in, the web's latest social network. it immediately seems appealing to people, but that's probably because it seems familiar. Chime.in combines the sharing quality of Twitter and the blogging of Reddit. it's kind of like a hybrid super-social network. it also has a little bit of Facebook in its parentage too - it has something similar to status updates - "chimes," which are a combination of status updates and blog posts. The character limit? 4000. But the big thing is, users have control over their profiles, including the advertising and sponsors that show up on their pages, while also being able to put up their own ads and keep 100% of the revenue. i personally would like to see how this plays out in our vast and quickly changing world of technology.

Microsoft and Brightpoint buddy up to deliver Windows Phone to Middle East and Africa - Engadget - 0 views

  •
Microsoft is now expanding to the Middle East and North Africa with their Windows Phone and teaming up with Brightpoint. i think that this is great for their business and allows them to spread their clientele, although they are a little behind compared to companies like Blackberry, who already have their products in these countries.

Can Municipal Waste Power Our Cars? - 0 views

  •
As we all know global warming and pollution are two big problems in this generation. Well two companies in Montreal and Maryland are trying to help this issue. Global warming is probably one of the biggest problems we are going through and the best solution fo this would be to stop using our cars to travel short distances, but most of us know we won't be able to do that. These two companies realize this and are trying to allow us to use our cars but also help with global warming in a major way. They are trying to use common waste materials from landfills heating it up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit and then using that energy to power something or to heat things up. i believe that this will go very far especially because people cant live without their own cars.

Government-Mandated Black Boxes In Your Cars - 0 views

  •
All airplanes are now fitted with "black boxes." These are basically boxes that record every movement in the airplanes altitude, pitch, speed and so on. well people are thinking of putting boxes such as these in cars so that it will be a lot easier to find out who was really at fault in accidents. i believe this will be a very useful tool as accident investigation is a big field and can become a much easier and make thins much faster.

Siri Comes to the iPad...Sort Of - 0 views

  •
Siri is so well known on the new iPhone 4s, maybe it should come to the iPad. And it has...kind of. A week after Siri was made to run on the iPhone 4, some progress was made in getting Siri to also operate on the iPad 1. However, be aware that it will not work exactly the same. it will operate on any jail-broken iPhone 4 and iPad 1 devices, remember that it is made to work on an iPhone 4s, so it will not function properly if it is used on anything BUT the iPhone 4s. Apple is limiting Siri's hardware specifically to the iPhone 4s, so they can control how well Siri can grow, and so it can support everyone on it for sure. i think that they should lift the restrictions, that way more people can have access to their latest achievement, and the world can move forward in technology.

Video: Robot Builds Other Robots From Foam | Danger Room | Wired.com - 0 views

  •
The University of Pennsylvania's Modlab builds a robot that can build and repair other robots using an insulating spray-foam. i think that this is cool because it's actually really hard to build a robot and by spraying insulating foam to create the arms and legs, that's amazing.

October 12, 2011: The Day SMS Began To Die | TechCrunch - 0 views

  •
With the release of iMessage, one of the many new features that come with iOS 5, people are foreseeing the downfall of SMS. BBM has already started this downfall, and now with iMessage, of those millions of people who have an iDevice and a phone, i am sure they will most likely stick to the iDevice. These are the dark days for SMS

Giant tablet lets commanders control battlefield - 1 views

  •
Star Craft 2 can now qualify as military training as new technology has been unveiled giving battlefield commanders a real time view of the battlefield with a large touchscreen. The screen provides a real time view of the battlefield providing the exact location and movements of friendly units, and discovered enemy units. The technology collects and displays intelligence collected by drones and reconnaissance units. Additional assets such as close air support and artillery are displayed on the side and can be simply dragged and dropped to be deployed. This is truly the next giant leap for the evolution of the battlefield...3. i now have a reason to play endless hours of starcraft 2.

AMD FX processor brings eight cores to battle-Engadget - 0 views

  •
Whooo AMD launches its eight core processor onto the market. (Should of launched it earlier so i wouldn't have a Phenom ii) Anyways, the top end model FX-8150 is priced at  $245 in exchange for eight cores, and a 3.6GHz base clock. The cpu fits on AM3+ sockets (+1). This processor is cheaper than the core i7-2600 by $55, while having roughly the same performance.

Google Wallet Now Lets You SingleTap That App | TechCrunch - 0 views

  •
Google Wallet now lets you SingleTap that app. So what is Google wallet? Google wallet is basically merging your phone and your wallet, or credit card to be exact together. with the addition of SingleTap, Google wallet is now allowing you to both pay and redeem coupons at a given retailer, without having to print out paper coupons. instead, the phone 'remembers' the offers you have saved and redeems them automatically. Also included is the ability to have a prepaid credit card which lets you load virtual money to use, in case your credit card is not natively supported by Wallet. it sounds like Google is trying to make an Octopus Card 2.0 or perhaps merging, no assimilating it into it's application. Currently however, it is not worth getting in my opinion, as its only supported on a Nexus S 4G and credit cards are pretty fast already, so i think it is a bit over rated and hyped up.

Weapon of Ice DestructIon: A Snowball LaunchIng Crossbow - 0 views

  •
Finally winter can be much better. Snowball fight!! Before we would need a pretty good set of gloves to keep our hands dry, but now we can just use a sniwball launching crossbow. Although it isn't a good idea to shoot a little kid with this, but it sounds pretty cool. i'd buy one just soo i can annoy my parents, but after getting in trouble maybe it isnt a good idea.

App Makes Checking in With Parents a Game - 0 views

  •
Aren't you always annoyed by your parents because they ask you when to come home from the mall, or tell you the specific time when you have to go home? Well, to me that's annoying. Luckily, there's an app called "imOK." This app works when parents sign up for an account and send a code to other members of the family. After this the other member of the family then signs up into the network of their phones. Teens check-in to the app for points, which plot their location on the map. While the adolescents check-in and add more information every time, they receive in return for their points is up to the parents. teens have a wishlist which they can suggest rewards in return of their points. Parents can either accept their ideas or add their own which both members can agree on. i believe that this app is a benefit on parents and their children because they both get something in return. The parents get their teen's trust, loyalty, and less stress, while the teen earns allowance.

Why 49% Of Gamers Won't Buy Downloadable Content | GameLife | Wired.com - 0 views

  •
Now when a Video Game is released, there is always DLC (Downloadable Content) to be released shortly after, but almost 50% of gamer's don't want to buy them, and the top reason is Security. And this tells why, according to Wired but personally i think that 1. That people are scared to buy anything online due to a recent oopsie when PSN got hacked, plus according to inside Gaming at Machinima.com is that Xbox live got hacked two. And 2 is why wont they just go to a store and buy a points card at a store, they cant be THAT lazy...right?

Even though Microsoft acquired Skype in May for a whopping $8.5 billion, an obscure application known as Tango will give power to video calls on several upcoming Windows Phone devices. Starting with coming preloaded on the Windows Phone 7.5, the Mango, sometime in the next few weeks. Are we seeing some competition for Skype? i think so, and it will be interesting to see the outcome of this battle.
