Addictive iPhone Game Aiko Island Rivals Angry Birds | GameLife | Wired.com - 0 views

  •
Yet another ipod physics game. It seems to be very addicting and worth to try out. The game itself is just saving 4 blue balls and popping 4 red balls, as easy as this may sound it actually isn't. What struck me was that this what looks like to be simple game actually took 9 months of programming.

EA Makes Worst Company In America History, Wins Title For Second Year In A Row! - 0 views

  •
EA has once again made the Worst Company in American History. Although many think the constant hate towards EA is a circlejerking karma train their problems and mistakes are very much real. This article outlines 3 of their main failures: -not providing a product their costumer will want -not selling a product at a reasonable price -not supporting the products they sell Despite selling games that millions of people buy most are rushed, including features that nobody wants, and not fixing previous mistakes. They also try to squeeze as much money out of their consumers as possible. They make people pay for money in-game products that should already be in the original copy and the make many of their games pay-to-win. The last big point that makes EA the Worst Company in American History was the fact that they have a habit of not supporting the products they sell. For example when

Sony Wins The Internet Today With The PS3 Ad Spot Michael | TechCrunch - 0 views

  •
Love or hate gaming, this Sony advert properly captures the very essence of video games. It's about the experiences. It's about the memories. Video games allow a person to, even briefly, become someone else, and enter their life and see a different world. Link, Ghost, and Gordon Freeman all become part of a gamer's narrative with just as much consequence as Tom Sawyer or The Hardy Boys.

Why is Tetris so addictive? | The Verge - 0 views

  •
Tetris is a popular game in today's society.  Almost everyone plays Tetris.  Why are people so hooked on this game though?  BBC published a report that states that it's the game's ability to continually provide a frustrating piece for the players to deal with, followed by the gratification of putting a piece in the right spot that is so appealing and makes the player wants to continue playing.  As well, once the game is started, the player is compelled to complete it.   The reason why I chose the tag of Portable Computing is because many companies are creating apps which allows people to play Tetris via their mobile devices.  The reason why they create this is because so many people enjoy playing Tetris, so the companies create apps for people to play Tetris on the go.

Hasbro reinvents Lazer Tag for the smartphone generation - 1 views

  •
this article is about using your Apple iPhone or iTouch as an add-on to a new Hasbro Nerf Laser Tag game. i think its pretty genius using your iPhone or iTouch as your own screen, but i also think that they should be other types of laser tag "guns"
  •
This article is about how you can plug in your iphone or ipod to plastic guns and play laser tag. You can get the app and it shows you where you hit your friend, what level you are etc. I think its good for this generation because teens these days enjoy playing shooting games and almost everyone loves lazer tag. I believe this is a great game that's coming out because I know I would want to play it, and its something fun to do with all your friends.

Flappy Bird comeback: Developer Dong Nguyen hints game could return in Rolling Stone in... - 0 views

  •
This article talks about the possible return of the game flappy bird. This article says that the creator is considering bringing back the game to the app store. When Dong first removed it, the reason was that it had become an addictive product. The reason that he might bring back the app is because he wanted to take a break. I think that he might bring back the app so that he can make money. Originally, he was making 50 000 dollars off ad revenue daily. If I was him, i would have never taken down the app in the first place. It clearly made him a lot of money.

How to Pay for College by Playing Games - 1 views

  •
College students now how a purpose to play their games. The company Grantoo is allowing companies to sponsor these students playing the games. What happens is that students can have online gaming tournaments on the web, and if they win, anything from 10% to 100% of their winnings will go to a charity of their choice, and the rest will go towards their school tuition. Not only does this help the students with money, but ti also makes them more aware of what they can accomplish when they help out other people/charities.

Should I Run a Second Operating System in a Virtual Machine or Dual Boot? - 0 views

  •
This is article is all about running a second operating system in a virtual machine or dual boot. Choosing between this two methods is up to you, because  you need to think which better for your particular needs. Both have pros and cons, but are better suited to specific situations. Dual booting is great for games and other Long stints in an operating system while virtualization is great for running that one program, or testing out a new OS.
  •
This article discusses the options of running an OS within an OS for example a VMware image of Apple Mac OS X 10.7 Lion running on a Windows based machine within the VMware software package. It discusses the issues of performance when you use another OS within a host OS and how the processor has to utilise and manage its resources within the both OS's for it to run, so therefore the virtual OS will be very laggy and unresponsive if it has to utilise a lot of resources and if it has a lot of programs and processes open simultaneously. While Dual booting is great if you own a Apple Mac due to the fact that not many games can run on the Mac environment because of the need of most games require the Microsoft DirectX 10 codec or higher for example CRYSIS 2  which is only available to windows machines for it to function properly. This therefore is relevant to my course due to the fact that it discusses many software package limitations and also hardware limitations which can get in the way of what you want to achieve for example VMware .ISO file of Apple Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion running on an Acer Aspire 5247.

Most Popular Headset with Attached Microphone: Sennheiser PC and HD Series - 0 views

  •
The Sennheiser is the most popular headset. This is because it has great audio, crystal clear voice quality, and is very comfortable. This headset is very convenient for video conferences and especially in gaming. I recommend that gamers who play online games that involve multiplayer such as fps should purchase this.  This is because it will really improve situations where someone can sneak behind you, and BOOM, you die. :(

Zeiss Cinemizer OLED with head-tracking hands-on (video) -- Engadget - 0 views

  •
This article is actually really interesting. They made Zeiss Cinemizer OLED. This device is used too play games, and enter the virtual world, and control what you do in the game. You can walk, and play. It's like a joystick used for forward motion. From people who tried it, according to them it felt really life like. This device will actually be out this year in 2012. This device is really worth getting, but it is inexpensive it's $850 plus you have to get the tracking hardware. This is worth trying!

Flappy Bird Copycats Keep on Flapping - NYTimes.com - 0 views

  •
Apparently Flappy Bird was so iconic that people have and are still making different versions of it, like Flappy Doge, Flappy Bert, and even Fall Out Bird, despite the creator, Dong Nguyen, taking it off the App Store and Google Play because he was guilty over it being an addictive game. This fad resulted in thousands of merchandise and imitations, thereby clearly showing that the majority of people still can not get over this game. How I see it, this obsession of Flappy Bird that has possessed the nation is actually very scary because the end of the aftermath does not seem to be near, and also the overbearing attachment to it may cause a lot of problems in terms of relationships and school success.
