MindJolt, the game distribution company that was acquired by MySpace founder and former CEO Chris DeWolfe last year, has made two significant acquisitions in the gaming space today- game developer Social Gaming Network (SGN) and game network Hallpass Media. The acquisitions were first reported by the New York Times. Financial terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed.

I thought that this article was interesting because I do a lot of online gaming and weather its starcraft or Call of Duty, I always like to be able to go the best audio and surround sound to get me really into the game. DayZ is a revolutionary game which started as an idea from lead designer Dean Hall. Dean Hall was inspired to make DayZ after a near death experience. DayZ started off as a mod for Arma 2 which was out for three years sold 1 million copies after the DayZ mod was released they sold 1 million copies in a few months. After Bohemia (the company that makes ARMA games) gave Dean Hall a standalone DayZ project which has passed 1.5 million copies sold and is still in pre-alpha. All in all DayZ is a game that tests your humanity, fear, compassion and everything in between.

Flappy Bird may be dead but Miley Cyrus is not. Once Flappy Bird died everyone jumped on the bandwagon to develop a similar game. Flying Cyrus has been fifth in the App Store since the death of Flappy Bird but Flying Cyrus may be dead soon to. Miley Cyrus's lawyers have been telling the creators of Flying Cyrus to pull the game down. Talo Games (the creators) do not plan on it anytime soon. As for what will happen we will find out in the future.

Tetris is a popular game in today's society.  Almost everyone plays Tetris.  Why are people so hooked on this game though?  BBC published a report that states that it's the game's ability to continually provide a frustrating piece for the players to deal with, followed by the gratification of putting a piece in the right spot that is so appealing and makes the player wants to continue playing.  As well, once the game is started, the player is compelled to complete it.   The reason why I chose the tag of Portable Computing is because many companies are creating apps which allows people to play Tetris via their mobile devices.  The reason why they create this is because so many people enjoy playing Tetris, so the companies create apps for people to play Tetris on the go.

Zynga has stolen NibleBits game TIny Towers and made it there own. And now NibleBits is raging ha ha ha.

You can play many games on it such as mortal combat, pacman, space invaders and many other fun games! I think this invention is awesome for people who have guests over there place and you can show them you new coffee table!

This article talks about the possible return of the game flappy bird. This article says that the creator is considering bringing back the game to the app store. When Dong first removed it, the reason was that it had become an addictive product. The reason that he might bring back the app is because he wanted to take a break. I think that he might bring back the app so that he can make money. Originally, he was making 50 000 dollars off ad revenue daily. If I was him, i would have never taken down the app in the first place. It clearly made him a lot of money.

College students now how a purpose to play their games. The company Grantoo is allowing companies to sponsor these students playing the games. What happens is that students can have online gaming tournaments on the web, and if they win, anything from 10% to 100% of their winnings will go to a charity of their choice, and the rest will go towards their school tuition. Not only does this help the students with money, but ti also makes them more aware of what they can accomplish when they help out other people/charities.

Dual booting is great for games and other Long stints in an operating system while virtualization is great for running that one program, or testing out a new OS.

It discusses the issues of performance when you use another OS within a host OS and how the processor has to utilise and manage its resources within the both OS's for it to run, so therefore the virtual OS will be very laggy and unresponsive if it has to utilise a lot of resources and if it has a lot of programs and processes open simultaneously. While Dual booting is great if you own a Apple Mac due to the fact that not many games can run on the Mac environment because of the need of most games require the Microsoft DirectX 10 codec or higher for example CRYSIS 2  which is only available to windows machines for it to function properly. This therefore is relevant to my course due to the fact that it discusses many software package limitations and also hardware limitations which can get in the way of what you want to achieve for example VMware .ISO file of Apple Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion running on an Acer Aspire 5247.

This fad resulted in thousands of merchandise and imitations, thereby clearly showing that the majority of people still can not get over this game. How I see it, this obsession of Flappy Bird that has possessed the nation is actually very scary because the end of the aftermath does not seem to be near, and also the overbearing attachment to it may cause a lot of problems in terms of relationships and school success.
