"World's First Spherical Flying Machine" Can Land and Fly Almost Anywhere - 0 views

  •
It's a bird! No, it's a plane! No, it's the world's first "Spherical Flying Machine," brought to you by Japan, the place where all the cool stuff seems to come from. Remember in Star Wars: A New Hope, when Luke Skywalker was practicing Jedi Lightsaber skills on a small, flying sphere that could hover and move quickly in every direction? Well, Japan's Ministry of Defense seems to have brought Jedi training balls to the world. Mostly driven by remote controls, the sphere utilizes a combination of propellers and wings to hover, fly in all directions at up yo 60 kph and can even move along the ground and walls. They created this ball to solve a problem they were having with aircrafts (they can apparently stand up vertically after flying horizontally, but take-offs and landings were "difficult," as one could have imagined). It is not known whether they will market the flying ball or not, but this is certainly a huge leap forward in the field of robotics, as well as flying.

Miley's Lawyers Want "Flying Cyrus" Off The App Store | TechCrunch - 0 views

  •
Flappy Bird may be dead but Miley Cyrus is not. Once Flappy Bird died everyone jumped on the bandwagon to develop a similar game. Flying Cyrus has been fifth in the App Store since the death of Flappy Bird but Flying Cyrus may be dead soon to. Miley Cyrus's lawyers have been telling the creators of Flying Cyrus to pull the game down. Talo Games (the creators) do not plan on it anytime soon. As for what will happen we will find out in the future.

Video: Japan's Defense Ministry Develops Awesome Ball-Shaped Drone | TechCrunch - 0 views

  •
The age of robots is coming near. Japan's Defense Ministry creates a ball shaped drone that can fly vertically and horizontally. It can also fly through narrow spaces. It goes at a max speed of 60km/h. If you throw a rock at it, don't think it will stop flying or go off balance because it won't thanks to three gyro sensors in its body. It even rolls on ground too. It only costed about $1400 US dollars in total because it was made from SPARE PARTS.

New project aims to upload a honey bee's brain into a flying insectobot by 2015 - 0 views

  •
The "Green Brain Project" aims to create an insectobot (a robotic insect) with the brain of a honey bee. It's not as crazy or difficult as it sounds though, the researchers working on this project are not directly copying a bees brain but trying to recreate it. More specifically they are recreating bees two most important senses- sight and smell. They will then upload this fake brain into a small insect like robot so it can act somewhat like a real honey bee. This is important, as it would be a huge step forward in robotics and also because scientists say they could use robotic bees to artificially pollinate. This could help  with the reduced number of honeybees. Bees are very important to the whole environment so this project could possibly be revolutionary. I chose the tag "environment" because scientist are trying to recreate a natural animal that not only comes from Earth but greatly impacts it. Plants need bees pollination to grow, and animals need plants to eat so with a lack of bees, the whole food web would take a major hit. This project aims to try to fix this. To me, it seems like it would be extremely expensive and difficult to create as many bees as the earth would need. Maybe in the distant future though, this may be realized.

Jets for iPhone: Find Out Where the Best Seat on the Plane Is - 0 views

  •
We all want the bets seat on a plane, especially if it's a long flight. With the new iPhone app called "Jets," you can find the best seat available all from your iPhone. It tells you the best seats on your flight, and the seats are color-coded: blue for standard, green is good, yellow is okay, and red is atrocious. It will enlighten you on qualities such as which seats have extra leg room (score) and the ones that don't recline (toss it). Very useful in today's world, we could all use the extra help when preparing for a flight, and it makes flying somewhere that much easier for you.

Japan's Ministry of Defense develops spherical drone - 0 views

  •
This drone is quite impressive because not only can this drone fly it is able to adapt to many obstacles that it may encounter such as being hit by something, in which case the drone would still be able to absorb the impact and continue flying. The drone also has the ability to move vertically and horizontally at speeds up to 60 mph. I find this drone incredible, and something that may lead to the future of our armed forces.

Angry Birds and iPads to Fly into Space - 0 views

  •
Since Angry Birds has pretty much taken over the world, why not try to extend the reign of awesomeness to space? An Angry Birds plushie, along with two Apple iPads, will be sent to the International Space Station with two upcoming Russian space launches. The iPads will be used for entertainment purposes, obviously, but the plush toy will be the first Angry Bird in space. That's one small step for a plush toy, one giant leap for Angry Birds everywhere.

Please see site below for more information. http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/9809/swissair.victims.list/index.html After the death of my husband I became the Head of his investment and now that I am old and weak I have decided to spend the rest of my life with my family and loved ones whom I never had time for during the course of my business life, but before the death of my husband we had a plan to use the last days of our lives to donate half of what we have worked for to the less privilege and charity homes and the other half for ourselves, family members and close friends, and it is so unfortunate that my husband is not alive today to do this with me and I am very weak and old now, hence I have decided to do this philanthropic work on behalf of my late husband and I. Presently, I have willed out almost half of our assets to several charity homes and to some of the less privilege in different countries. Despite the agreement between my late husband and I to give aid to the deprived, we also agreed to render support to an individual we have not meet before in life due to the fact when

Universal Motion Simulator: real enough to evoke panic (video) - 1 views

  •
A fighter sim just isn't realistic unless it makes you throw up and scream for your mother, which is why the sadistic folks at Australia's Deakin University created the Universal Motion Simulator. It can mimic external disturbances, mechanical failures and crash scenarios as well as normal flying.

Air Force's 'Not Science Fiction' Commercial Totally Is - 0 views

  •
An US air force recruitment commercial that promises that everything you see is real; but right away you notice that the first 30 seconds of the commercial is from a Micheal bay movie. The part that amazed me the most was that the c-17s fly's to a collapsing bridge to safe some stranded people on it, when it gets to the bridge the engines (which are 500,000 pounds each) turn vertical and make the plane stationary for enough time to rescue the stranded; then the plane transforms into another aircraft and fly's away. How can you call something like this real, unless the U.S. army is flying an auto-bot c-17s.
