This article is concerned with what it may mean to individuals to engage in practices that are physically challenging and risky. The article questions the assumptions that psychological health is commensurate with maintaining physical safety, and that risking one's health and physical safety is necessarily a sign of psychopathology. The research was based upon semi-structured interviews with eight extreme sport practitioners. The interviews were analysed using Colaizzi's version of the phenomenological method. The article explicates the themes identified in the analysis, and discusses their implications for health psychology theory and practice.

Li explains through this article the importance of parents helping their children when they are part of a language minority. Studies have shown that if children are trying to learn a second language, it is much easier to do so when their parents are using that language as well. This study was done by the author, Xiaoxia Li, on her daughter, Amy who had come to Li from Mainland China when she was twelve knowing little Enlglish. The article describes the study and the details of how Amy started learning English. Li does a very good job in this article by making everything very understandable and it makes a very good resource for parents that are trying to use two languages in the household.

During the 2008 Election, presidential candidates are using social networking sites to reach out to the youth. Demographers are saying this is the year that the "millennials" could determine the election with their huge numbers of registered voters. The candidates are listening and are doing whatever it takes to get the youth vote. The presidential nominees are using the new technology such as Facebook, Myspace, and YouTube to reach out to young adults. This article tells how the candidates are using different forms of technology to reach out to youth voters.

This article by Joanne Jacobs speaks about how students that speak English as a second language are their best students, and their worst students. Some of these work very hard to learn language proficiently and go on to test very highly and be very bright, others are very average and do not pass as proficient in the English language. Jacobs speaks of teachers being horrified by the numbers of students that are not proficient that have been in English speaking school systems since kindergarten. Jacobs has an interesting article and someone looking for a few good statistics would be smart by looking into this article.

In this article Soto describes thirteen bilingual children and their own awareness of bilingualism in their lives by sharing conversation with the others. The study is based on 6 girls and 7 boys from Pennsylvania that speak English and Spanish. Soto goes on to speak about how their town's award winning bilingual system was taken away, and the children were very upset when they went to school and could not understand what was going on. The author makes great points and has many sources that lead to many facts in the article. It is a good study within the article that could teach one about the studies that happen within bilingualism.

Oladejo writes this article speaking about foreign language education in Taiwan. It describes that the government is very appalling when it comes to getting input from the public that's concerns determining the language education in Taiwan. The process they use many a times has had complaints, and the public hopes for it to be better. There are many charts that Oladejo adds to his article with results of questionaires sent out to parents. Questionaires conclude many answers that parents have regarding when English should start being taught. The author also uses many other charts to show details in his work, and his article is very well put together.

In this article Pam McCollum discusses two-way bilingual programs and students who study together in two languages. It directly examines how middle school Mexican students that are enrolled in two-way bilingual programs do better in school, and usually use English over their native language of Spanish. The article shows that they analyzed these students very carefully not only in their work, but in informal settings as well. McCollum's article is, at times, a little bit hard to understand, but if read carefully a useful one.

In Hutson's article he uses an image to portray his facts. The article explains psychological characteristics in bilingualism and children. It mainly speaks about children and how they can pick up on different languages, how different languages produce more achievement, and how being bilingual can immensely help someone in the future. Hutson's article describes many facts that are very straight forward and intriguing to the mind.

The article explores the abstinence of political behaviors such as voting and participating in political engagement. This article can be used to compare the youth in Australia's democracy and the youth involvement in America's democracy.

Throughout the article it gives statistics and facts about how the bible influenced and was used in his work. So overall this article described the ways that literacy benefited from the Bible's literacy.

This source was an article about the Nutrtion Labeling and Education Act. This act was passed in the 1990s. The article addresses the background and purpose of the act and how it changed food packaging. The study itself is done in three parts evalating field study, lab study, and longitudinal data. This article was very informative as far as the field study. They observed and questioned grocery shoppers. The information was from 2002, so it is slightly dated.

It explains that the results of the most recent test are the worst in the history of the test. The article does a great job linking the poor results with the current mortgage crisis, and expresses the importance of financial literacy in consumers today. The article is very useful in providing concrete data on the state of our country's financial literacy.

This article talks about the state of financial literacy. What makes this article different than most of the others that I have come across, is that it talks about financial literacy in an international context. It quotes several well qualified scholars on the issue and not only discusses the need for financial literacy, but the article gives several different solutions for it, rather than just compulsory financa classes. It also discusses President Bush's new advisory on financial literacy and the consequences.

Academic support must first focus on the involvement of the central administration, faculty, and athletic department. Also according to this article, an evaluation of the athletes through testing and records must be performed first to further improve the academic support. This article provides information necessary for developing an academic support program fit to supply sufficient support for athletes.

This article written by Young speaks about how Vietnamese parents were given questionaires regarding the use of bilingual education in the San Diego City Schools. It goes on to speak about how parents agree that being bilingual will eventually help them later on in life, but learning their primary language is more important. Young teaches in his article the methods of this study, and he explains the data that was collected in very good detail, there are also many quick reading and helpful charts as well.

This article describes the ways on which to be careful when teaching the Bible in schools. This article however agrees with the teaching of the Bible it is just aware that one must be aware of what one is saying when teaching this sensitive subject.

Lucas describes in this detailed article that in early childhood there is noun bias. The article speaks of a study that entails 60 Filipino-English bilingual children. The children were different in how they stressed their nouns and verbs in simple sentences or phrases. Remarkably, the results show that only noun bias is shown in bilingual children's English vocabulary. The author goes very in depth with her study, and does not seem to leave anything out that is need.

Supiano explains the extreme need for financial literacy in college campuses, where students are adults, yet still have very little financial knowledge or independence. Supiano discusses that without the new initiatives for new finance classes at colleges, non-business students would graduate with very little financial literacy, but in many cases with a lot of debt. This article paints a very great picture of the situation of our college financial literacy. The article gives helpful knowledge into some examples of college literacy initiatives, and offers many possible solutions to the financial literacy problem among college students.

In this article, Pickard and Reichelt discuss the alternative to Financial Literacy classes in high school, online courses for students and adults on personal finance. This study offers that online courses are very useful tool in gaining financial literacy. The article discusses the state of our financial literacy in the context of family finances. Pickard and Reichelt also give valuable statistics on financial literacy in regard to important demographics such as race and income level. The authors connect the issues with personal finance with the macroeconomic issues, which is very helpful for the reader.
