I thought this video was perfect to give an example of emphasis I didn't even think of emphasis as focal point.

A website that specializes in media design. I found it relevant and useful because it is real life application of what we are learning about and shows that people need specialists to get a certain emotion or point across. 

This is a quick video that does a great job showing how to find the vanishing point.

This article explains digital writing through an educators point of view. Saying that writing has been "radically transformed" due to technology. The educator, Jeff Grabill, also explains the meaning of digital writing in his words.

Formal Report: A Powerpoint presentation addressing all parts of constructing a formal report, from beginning to end, including references. Very in depth, while managing to keep strictly to the point.

Really good example of a video resume with creativity and straight to the point.

I like this site because it provides a well done power point. I like that the power point not only includes formal reports, but also includes proposals.

CBS News article I referenced in my ROD post this week. Points out the CDC's utilization of Aristotle's rhetoric appeals. 

This is a quick and to the point resource that provides visual evidence of how value works in design. Watching the creation of a something like this really helps me understand the idea better because, as I have come to learn, I am a very visual learner. (9/19/13)

Here is an article I read. Kind of parallels that of Gladstone's book. Really points to the mess that is becoming of journalism. 

This website provides an easy to follow guide on whether or not to design your website to be realistic or abstract. It points you in the right direction depending on your goals for the project. This would be very useful for a web designer trying to decide whether or not they want to use an abstract design with their website.

I wanted to find another site with a more in depth explanation and found one with totally new elements that can be used to improve layout and design. Most of these examples I have never heard of besides focal point and grid design, but you can never know too many new ways in order to improve your delivery, right?

Host Terry Gross interviews author Linda Greenhouse about her book "Before Roe v. Wade." Among other points, Greenhouse discusses the phrase, "right to choose" which was an important choice or words for the movement.

The New Yorker's Ezra Klein breaks down why a skillful use of rhetoric will not always help a President achieve his purpose. This goes back to the point that one's audience will have people who have differing purposes and, in many cases, it will be impossible to persuade everyone.

This is an ancient example of the use of repetition, I think that sometimes it is important to reflect on our past and realize that many of the elements and principles of design that are learned now were at one point just part of human nature.
