A lengthy discussion of new media, how it's defined, and its implications.

Chapter 1 of Design Fundamentals is all about trying to define new media. This site's main function is to help people have a better understanding concerning communications throughout the internet. New media is constantly being redefined because technology and forms of communication through technology are constantly evolving and developing. This site helped me not only understand better what is considered to be new media today, but can help me in the future as new media evolves and the definition changes.

Alignment and how to use it, with simple but effective examples.

After having read the first two chapters of the Designed Fundamentals for New Media book and the other required readings, I feel I was better equipped in regards to being able to identify the different methods of communication present, and understand why the author of the article referred to Obama's rhetoric as "predictable."

This website lists repetition as being one of the 4 principles of good designs for websites. This shows how useful repetition can be when used in the creation of a website. It is a fundamental tool that should be used by designers when appropriate.

Goes beyond explaining emphasis and provides useful tips and ideas regarding the actual use of emphasis in varying levels of design. (Week 10, 11/30)

This was a fun, easy to follow video on the elements of design, with examples of each.  Very interesting video!

This resource is sort of an aggregate of several resources. Each goes into and provides different perspectives of how typography can and is used. There is a lot of variance to each and I like all of the differentiation. (Week 11, 12/1)

I like this resource because it looks at style and emphasis from a more academic viewpoint. (Week 10, 11/30)
