Principles of Design: Week 06: Composition & Layout Archives - 0 views

  •
I like this resource because it takes a lot of the ideas we have already looked at and approaches them from a composition & layout perspective. We have seen what each is and what they do; this provides some depth into what each can do/does for the composition of a text. (10/5/13)

Graphic Design Basics Part 3: Composition - 0 views

I wanted to find another site with a more in depth explanation and found one with totally new elements that can be used to improve layout and design. Most of these examples I have never heard of besides focal point and grid design, but you can never know too many new ways in order to improve your delivery, right?

Theories of rhetoric and composition pedagogy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - 0 views

What I really like about this link is that it is a fluid and in depth description and explanation for rhetoric's transition from the spoken to written word. In isn't just a simple definition, but provides a broader picture of rhetoric's evolution.

CHAPTER 4 Balance in Composition - 0 views

CHAPTER 4- I liked this website the best because it displayed all the ways you can create balance in a work. You can do it by value, color, shape, texture, etc. I also liked that it explained the horizontal axis.

This site is a design notes site created for an ART 104 class taught at Palomar College. The site offers a wealth of information not just on balance but also similiar material found within our textbook.
  •
Balance is concerned with the distribution of visual interest -- what is where in a composition. << This source gives further understanding for balance and shows how symmetry is related to it.
  •
Another article with more details and a more clear layout to understand different sections of balance within design.
