The fed gov does not recognize same sex marriage, however six states have amended this and grant same sex marriage.

There will be five court cases heard by the supreme court about legalizing same-sex marriage. Several courts have legalized the marriages but 39 states still prohibit it. The DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act), which prevents federal governments from recognizing same sex marriage and allows each state the choice to do so as well, has been found unconstitutional in eight federal courts with two court appeals.

We have a right to bear arms, but there is still alot of controversy arising with this 2nd Amendment right. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and mine is that if you are a responsible human being, and you are using the weapon as protection and leaving it in a safe place with the right precautions than you can have one, and you aren't abusing the right to have one. But if you are going to obtain a gun and bad decisions and leave it in places where it is easily accessable to those who shouldn't have it than you are irrisponsible and shouldn't be allowed to carry one. But, how are we supposed to sift through these personalities and find out who is capable of following the guidlines. Well...that is the million dollar question now isn't is?

The article "Marriage cases on Supreme Court docket" discusses some cases that are current pending in the Supreme Court. All cases are about the inequality of rights in a same sex marriage compared to the traditional marriage and the disadvantages/discriminations that occured with it.

Every now and then the Supreme Court will get a case based on religion. In these cases the court will have to decide whether or not the religion should be excepted or not. One case taken to the court that was said to be illegal was about a coach in New Jersey who prayed with his team before games. This left people angry over the fact that they believe religious displays should not be illegal. Polygamy is a battle of both religion and rights for both types of people who are for or against polygamy.
