The famous reality TV show 'Sister Wives' is using their show to not only educate America about their religious lifestyle, but to help fight to let it be legal once again. Polygamy was outlawed in the 1890s, but it is still practiced today by many Mormon families. The religious practice has to be carefully done in secret for the fear of being convicted. The author states that Mormons just want to freely practice their faith and be left alone about it without legal consequences.

I watched the first season of Sister Wives on Netflix, and, without voicing my personal opinions on the subject, I was really surprised that people are still practicing polygamy.

This talks about the abuse that happens in alot of polygamist marriages and cities. The men claim it is their religious right. But is it a religious right or a con so these men can abuse women and children sexually and physically and have alot of wives. Kody Brown and his "wives" file a lawsuit in the state of Utah. They have named seven different claims and named the govenor of Utah as one of the defendants in the case. They state "they are just one of many plural families living in the state and just want to live their lives."

Polygamy is a battle of both religion and rights for both types of people who are for or against polygamy. The author states the history behind the laws against polygamy as well as the battle between Reynolds and the US for it to be allowed due to the religious beliefs of Mormons. Reynolds was convicted and charged for polygamy, which in turn, ended it everywhere in the US; especially in Utah. Several times, the Reynolds Law has been challenged, but those who have challenged the law have failed.

The reality show Sister Wives is used as a example in that they are being sued because Kody Brown is "married" to four woman. Their argument is that they are not causing and physical problems for anyone and they are not harming their children in any way so the government should stay out of their presonal lives.

The author of this article is pressing for gays to have the same rights as everyone else. Moreover, the latest in polygamy in Utah is felt by many to be too much in to another person's business. It is that the state if Utah is 'persecuting citizens for living their religious values.

If people get divorced the husband shouldn't have to continue to support the wife. Women are working and supporting themselves now more than ever so the husbands should have the right to keep their own money and not give it to their ex wives.
