This is a great website for teachers to use. They are able to send text messages to parents to remind them of events that are coming up without using your actual phone number.

University of Houston: A storyboard is a written or graphical representation of the all of the elements that will be included in a digital story. The storyboard is usually created before actual work on creating the digital story begins and a written description and graphical depiction of the elements of the story, such as images, text, narration, music, transitions, etc. are added to the storyboard. The elements of the story are arranged in the storyboard in the chronological order in which they will appear in the story and this allows the developer to organize and re-arrange the content for maximum effect.

I have used this website in Kindergarten and am excited to see that there are plenty of resources I can use for second grade. The NCTE is composed off dedicated teachers who share their resources, strategies, and best practices with others. You can enjoy the benefits of being a NCTE member by enrolling in the membership. Many of the resources are free and can be used in the classroom. There are lesson plans and student interactives to use for any subject on a computer or smart board. The great thing about this website is that parents and children can access it at home for after school resources. There is community involvement and professional developments that one can attend.

Students are able to go back in and recreate their avatars (which are little monsters). You can give points for participation, teamwork, working hard, being on task, etc... and take away points for being disrespectful, not doing homework, etc. A useful tool that is both a website and an app. Currently free to use - but if you're not already signed up, they are going to start charging for it next school year (I suggest sign up!).
