lol, when i bookmarked this, it automatically put the title as "victim list!"  random name generator for primary teachers, but i don't see why secondary teachers can't use if for activities that require random name draws.

Study Blue Interfaces with Evernote - 3 views

Take notes out of evernote and put them into a flashcard maker. Although the best student notetaking software, I believe, is and continues to be One NOte - the incredible apps and evernote trunk are attracting students because of how they help them study. The link up can happen and you can use studyblue to help you study on any type of device. I know this is memorization and "lower order" thinking but it is still a fact that it is part of learning today.

Great little article on the power of Twitter. Really empowering to see the local news media taking such a positive view of edtech & supporting our work. (Same reporter did a great piece on EdCamp Philly.)

Ninite - Install or Update Multiple Apps at Once - 10 views

  •
This incredible website lets you pick all of the software you want and automatically says NO to toolbars and "junk" you don't want on the computer. I'm using it to make sure I have everything on the new computers I'm putting in at school. It is missing a few virtual world programs but overall it saves TONS of time! It even does updates! Works for Linux and PC.

Using Diigo in the Classroom - Student Learning with Diigo - 42 views

  • Save important websites and access them on any computer. Categorize websites by titles, notes, keyword tags, lists and groups. Search through bookmarks to quickly find desired information. Save a screenshot of a website and see how it has changed over time. Annotate websites with highlighting or virtual "sticky notes." View any annotations made by others on any website visited. Share websites with groups or the entire Diigo social network. Comment on the bookmarks of others or solicit comments to your shared bookmarks.
  • Professional Development Beyond extended student learning, Diigo can be used as a form of professional development. Diigo has several educator groups that are active in sharing and collaborating on bookmarks relevant to education. This group has almost 10,000 members. You can find over 200 other Diigo K-12 education groups here.
