For people who love to make movies on their cell phones. A lot of educators are participating in this network created by Janet English. They send you a prompt and you upload a video from your cell phone.

Earnie Easter's blog over at the Seedlings Ning network. This is an educator to watch. His work is amazing.

Just joined Atlantis Seekers - a really cool network of educators who meet on most Monday nights in SEcond Life to learn headed up by uber-digital storytelling pioneer Bernajean Porter.

A dozen activities are presented for using an online education technology tool to engage students in classroom activities to develop a better understanding of concepts.

So, this seems to be a growing social network for higher education and shows people registered by college. This is interesting.

North West Learning Grid is a regional body consisting of 18 Local Authority Members who can access licenced content as well as the many free resources we make available to schools nationally. The Learning Platform downloads area contains FREE resources to take and to keep. The National Education Network (NEN) resources are also free to use. Both of these facilities will be regularly expanded as we develop more resources for you.

I still haven't come to terms with what exactly the power of our networks mean for concepts like "cheating" - I am sure there are some who might view what I did as dishonest. I like to think it offers insight into what personalized learning could look like and how doing the same old assignments, the same old way, is not good enough.

Mr. Tweet will do some homework for you - although I still believe in the randomness and greatness of building a network - I often find people that I thought I was following and wasn't. I don't know how this will work, but am goign to test it out!

Dean Groom interviews his ninght grade students about how social networks affected their learning. This is a reflection of their project and a great listen if you want to hear what STUDENTS say. We need more reflective student voices like this.

The key to Twitter is to see it as our own Personal Learning Network (PLN). Everyone has the right to use it how they want. If someone doesn't like how you use twitter than they can just go ahead and unfollow. Really it's no different from writing a blog. Similar etiquete but you are more likely to share the mundane in twitter. Twitter is also more like f2f conversations - if all you do is post links or ask for help you will never make the connections that make people want to conenct with you.

Doug Johnson estimates the savings moving to Google apps, Great post for those considering this. Doug says: "These are rough and admittedly optimistic estimates, but I think you can see the general trend. Even if only 50% of my estimated nearly $2M in savings is realized, that averages out to close to $200,000 per year. (Out of a $1.2M budget.) I am not suggesting reducing tech budgets by this amount, but I can sure think of a lot more interesting things (like kids' computers, a more robust wireless network, and more bandwidth) to spend tech dollars on. Yes, I need to pay $7 a year per administrative, possibily teacher, e-mail account for archiving and retrieval. Not bad, though, considering."
