DnaTube is a scientific site providing video based studies, lecturers and seminars. DnaTube is a non-profit video site which is aiming to be a visual scientific resource for its visitors. As graduate students, we know that it is difficult to understand biological mechanism by reading plain text. And we know that a picture says more than a thousand words. We believe the video-based explanations of biological concepts will remove the barrier in front of the people desiring to enhance their scientific knowledge.

Larry Sanger, co-founder of Wikipedia, has launched a new web site designed to gather and organize educational videos for students ages 3 to 18. The site, WatchKnow.org, currently features more than 11,000 videos across 2,000 categories on subjects such as math, science, and history.

This is another method of wikis and collaborative writing playing a role in more open government and transparency. Students could run a student version of this sort of site, or -pedia sites on all kinds of things.

KNowmania is a very cool website which now has an app. You'll want to look at the online site, but if you're looking at flipping and have detailed screencasts, etc, this is a nice site. This is a wonderful site from the University of Salford in the UK. Listen to soundscapes which have been recorded all over the world. Navigate on the map to find a place of interest, listen to the recording and read the information about the location. This is an iPad app and site where you can create video tutorials on a virtual whiteboard on an iPad and share it on the web to view on any device.
