A variety of Google templates for classroom use including a student newspaper, timeline, calendar ideas for students, classroom job application, story mapping graphic organizer, venn diagrams.  Many are elementary level but easily adaptable for higher grade levels.

There are so many innovative ways to use Google Earth with your students. Some of these may be familiar to you, but hopefully some are new and will help you improve upon a unit with your students.

What it is: TerraClues for Schools is an easy to use tool where teachers can create interactive "scavenger hunts" with Google maps. Teachers can access hundreds of already made TerraClues to use in conjunction with curriculum or create their own TerraClues to fit their classroom needs. Teachers can also create private classrooms where they assign students to specific hunts. TerraClues hunts can also be shared with other teachers in your school, district, or anywhere in the world. This is a fun way to learn about using maps, curriculum content, and how to navigate the Internet. This site encourages students to learn and implement problem solving skills and learn about different cultures around the world. The Google Maps can be viewed as street maps, satellite maps, or hybrid.

This Google resource brings together the latest industry facts and insights. These have been collected from a number of third party sources covering a range of topics from macroscopic economic and media trends to how consumer behaviour and technology are changing over time.

This is Google's website that will make it easier for you to get your data out of Google. This is certainly an admirable thing for Google to do, but perhaps has practical applications as well - putting the onus of backup back on the users.

Google Message Security - powered by Postini - provides the capability for administrators to limit messages based on who they are from, where they are going, or the content they contain. Message rules can be applied to groups of users, allowing customization for different user sets (like younger students, older students, and teachers).

A tool that makes it very easy to write on maps. You can put markers, widgets, and put text easily on the map as well as exporting it to Google Earth or Google maps. This is a great tool for children. You shouldn't use paper maps for Geography projects, particularly if you're in a 1:1 program. Try this app instead.

Remember, this is still all quite new, so things may not work as you would hope. But when they do, it's SO much fun. :)

This wiki page is one of the most definitive Google Calendar how-to guides that I've ever see. They did a great job of organizing things! Awesome! I especially like the features on how to print in custom ways at the bottom of this!
