Think.com's safety lesson with nets standards. Think.com is excellent to use with younger students and is very walled and has an excellent profanity filter. I highly recommend it and have personally used it for a summer blogging project. Excellent site. It also requires an extensive verification process by the participating schools.

The previous spring, both had tested below grade level in math. Parents who excel at maths produce children who excel at maths. This is according to a recently released University of Pittsburgh study, which shows a distinct transfer of math skills from parent to child. The study specifically explored intergenerational transmission-the concept of parental influence on an offspring's behaviour or psychology-in mathematic capabilities.

This looks like a very cool English game that uses all kinds of shows to teach. Thinking that ESL teachers will want to test this one out. It has a delightful overview of what is happening with technology and global collaboration (and includes flat classroom and also a sidebar about how Dr. Bonk and I met at GAETC two years a go - kind of humorous.) Excellent reading for IT Directors and Technology Integrators - I particularly like the part about doing your homework and the thorough needs assessment - this fits with excellent books like the Influencer that have researched positive change.

Excellent efolio of work from Joy J in the 10th grade Introduction to Computer Science course. You can see an overview of the types of things done in this course and how Flat Classroom and NetGenEd were integrated into the curriculum as well as some videos. Joy is an excellent student and this portfolio with exception of a few tiny omissions is near perfect.

EXcellent reading on digital citizenship and why some parents want to block use at school.

Very interesting ponderings from an elementary teacher in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada about the balance and issues that have caused some parents to want to block all "social" tools in school. I think she has very balanced ponderings on this and it is excellent reading.
