This website allows you to record screencasts. It is very functional and easy to use; while it is expensive to purchase a product license, they do offer a very useful free trial which can help with a short term project.

Glogster allows for all the information being presented to be gathered together in one place. Each individual screencast and video has its own link, connecting all the pieces of the presentation in one place. Creating a glog as a "home page" that contains all of these links allows viewers to see how the presentation is going to proceed, and allows participants to easily go back and rewatch any of the screencasts that they need to review in order to complete part of their assignment.

Google Drive does many things, but in my workshop I will show participants how to create forms that they can embed in their blogs. Other survey websites have similar features, but Google Drive allows you to embed your work directly in your blog post.

While there are many websites that allow people to create their own blogs, Wordpress stands out for being intuitive and user-friendly. Participants will use Wordpress to create their own blogs as their authentic assessment activity.

Comic life is a fun, learner-centered multimedia tool that offers both pictures and text in graphic novel form. Users will see directions for creating a blog as well as pictures that graphically display each step, so that they feel confident that they are following directions correctly.

Vimeo allows users to upload videos which are accessible from school computers, unlike Youtube videos. If videos are created to be engaging, they are a learner-centered technology.

Glogster (EDU version) - 4 views

  •
Glogster allows learners to create an interactive poster, in which they post images, text, music and videos. They can also include links to other websites, including other glogs, to make their project more comprehensive. When used to create a project, this is a deeply learner-centered technology, as it requires a great deal of both behavioral and cognitive activity. Viewing it as part of the workshop will require both kinds of activity as well.
