    This site works well for helping you to create material for essential or generative learning, because you can develop the content of your presentations onlime and make changes as necessary to fit the learning needs of your participants. The zoho show features are very similiar to those of PowerPoint, it is great for when you may not have access to PowerPoint.

    Creating presentation could not get any easer with ZOHO. This tool is free and has the ability for users to create and present from remote locations. Your presentations can be accessed and edited from any PC connected to the internet. The tool is great for collaboration and has the capabilities of embedding data in Wiki pages or blogs.

The video uses a learner-centered approach to technology because according to Mayer, it does "compliment human abilities, aid activities that we are poorly suited and enhances the development for which we are ideally suited" (Mayer, 2009, p. 13)." The required active engagement for this video is cognitive because the focus in the video is on the meaning of the presented material and interprets it in light of prior knowledge, YouTube-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hlgGpVpgWo YouTube provides a video presentation on a "SMART Board Interactive White Board Accessibilities." This video presentation provides teachers with information on how to make the SMART Board accessible to all students. The video uses a learner-centered approach to technology because it "takes in account the learners information processing (Mayer, 2009, p. 9)." The required active engagement for this video is cognitive because the focus is on learner adding information to their memory.     The three web sites that I selected that include multimedia artifacts for active learning: 1) http://www.learner.org/ The learner.org website is a cognitive activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site focuses on using multimedia technology as an aid to human cognition (Mayer, p. 13 2009). It uses film clips to demonstrate the practical applications of various mathematical concepts to real life situations. It builds a connection of what the students are studying to a concrete example (visual) to create a clearer mental picture form prior knowledge to new knowledge that is being discovered. 2) http://pearsonmylabandmastering.com/ The My Lab web site is a behavioral activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site focuses on rewarding students for the correct responses (excellent) or punished for the incorrect ones (try again). The underlying metaphor is that of drill-and-practice system, so multimedia is a vehicle for rewarding correct responses and punishing incorrect ones (Mayer, p.15, 2009). A student receives immediate feedback positive or negative and strengthens a response system to proceed or provide reinforcement of the content. 3) http://webgraphing.com/ The web graphing web site is a cognitive activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site provides engagement between the student and the graphing calculator. Multimedia learning is a sense-making activity in which the learner seeks to build a coherent mental representation from the presented material (Mayer, p. 17, 2009). The students actively engage with the graphing calculator along with the teacher

    Google docs is a great way to merge existing documents, with the ability to create and organize documents online. It is better than a lot of other options because it is free, and transfers across computer platforms.

    We are all familiar with Google Docs. It can be used to place documents, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings, and forms to share during presentations. I like this because it is so easy and free! Documents can also be edited by students.

    After creating a slide show it can be shared publicly with people. People who are viewing the presentation can also chat about it on the side. Google Docs is an easier program to share documents with, due to Google's popularity more people have are familiar with the features, and it allows for simple sharing and collaboration of ideas. The chat feature during the presentation will allow for participants to be responding to their new learning with others in the room. Google Docs and the chat feature while sharing a slide show is an example of generative learning because it is allowing for deeper understanding through collaboration.

    Google has a ton of free resources that have the same functionality as Powerpoint or Keynote. One of the great components of Google Docs is the ability to collaborate with others through real time chat or make comments/revisions to a document. For a presentation, Google Docs has a presentation tool that is easy to use, free, and accessible from any location with an internet connection. Although the presentations are not flashy, they help teachers incorporate multimedia into their instruction and make the technology accessible for all of their students.

    Google Presentations, while not the most sophisticated of online presentation formats, makes up for its simpler approach in its ability to be shared and collaborated upon in extraordinary ways. It is easily used for students to demonstrate their understanding and integration of presented material. What stands out, is its ability to be utilized in Google+ Hangouts for instant presentation and collaboration. It can also be easily embedded and shared across multiple social platforms and blogs. Finally, with the prevalence of students with gMail accounts, most students already have this just waiting for them at their fingertips.

    This website utilizes pictures, video or any type of work that can be uploaded to the site by a teacher or a student. Participants are able to provide written, voice or video comments about the posted artifact. This is a collaborative, student-centered site that promotes cognitive processing of information. This artifact represents what Mayer (2009) calls dual coding, including both textual and visual components. The students have the opportunity to respond in a variety of ways to the instruction which promotes higher level thinking skills. I plan to create my own Voice Thread using our own student writing.

    VoiceThread incorporates media from a variety of sources and allows the layering of sound and comments from many sources. The application support completely new types of sharing and presentation. We can create multimedia albums in which can insert documents in PDF, Excel, PPT and MCS. VoiceThread is an excellent resource for presentations.

    VoiceThread is a tool for digital storytelling which uses photos and audio and text to share.  The site is centered around the technology, but its use is learner centered.

    Voicethread is excellent for generative learning. It presents information through the visual and auditory channels. Its unique ability to integrate voice comments and feedback inline during the presentation sets it apart from others as away to integrate the learning of many students. This ability to collaborate not only includes their website and an iOS application, but is also available through the phone. Each presentation can receive a phone number so students can leave comments in that way if their computer systems do not allow them to otherwise.

    VoiceThread allows its users to create a slideshow presentation using images and/or video components. Once the presentation has been designed and ready to share, it can be embedded onto any webpage. This allows for easier access to its users and viewers. This particular online presentation program was much easier to use and access than many of the other programs that I viewed. It also allows for collaboration among classmates and instructors, by permitting others to comment on each photo through text, audio, or video.

    VoiceThread is a collaborative tool that allows users to upload media and engage in dialogue. Users can provide commentary on the media that is presented through typing or voice recording. An additional feature of VoiceThread allows users to draw with a pen as a way of highlighting while they are talking. The administrator has options to block participants' responses from each other before revealing all the comments for viewing. This website supports essential and generative learning because participants are given the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to transfer knowledge gained.
