Picture using this site in conjunction with a digital storytelling assignment. Imagine this as an activity for creating a story book for a younger class.

This project was created to inspire teachers to use technology in engaging ways to help students develop higher level thinking skills. Equally important, it serves to motivate district level leaders to provide teachers with the tools and training to do so. Nesbitt, B. J. (2007). A vision of K-12 students today. I LOVE VoiceThread. I think it is super easy to use and provides students the opportunity to express themselves digitally. It works great for elementary students all the way up to high school students (even adults). You can create a single educator account for FREE or get a classroom subscription. Depending on how often you will use it I recommend splurging and buying the class subscription because you can create individual student accounts.

Very cool tool allowing students to create online stories using their own artwork or pictures. Which also allows them to narrate the story in their own voice.

A online story making resource where users choose, type, click and drag themselves a story with images and animation to share. http://ictmagic.wikispaces.com/English
  •
Nice tool but doesn't accept languages other than English. No accent marks, diacritics or non-romance letters. Too bad.
  •
Easy story book creator that shows animated characters. Can be downloaded to pdf format and shared via email. No signup required.

Maybelle the Cockroach - home - 84 views

This teacher has embedded a Glogster into a wiki to house and organize all her students' digital stories about Maybelle. If nothing else, this is fun and pure delight. On a different front, it is amazing at what these young students are sharing with the world about this story.
