US: Immigrant Injustice | Human Rights Watch - 0 views

  •
Immigrants are not getting the justice they deserve due to the lack of legal documentation. US citizens take advantage of immigrants by not paying them for jobs or by stealing the illegal's property and threaten to call immigration if they say anything.
  •
I like the article that you picked, I think immigration is a strong topic to do re-search on. I'm re-searching more for illegal immigration, a lot of people complain about the immigrants but once they leave no one wants to pick up their jobs for as little as the illegals worked for. I've learned that the Arizona economy took a hit for this, but also a lot more jobs became available for citizens.

The Effects of Immigration on the United States' Economy - Penn Wharton Budget Model - 2 views

  •
An article from a college about statistics and effects immigration has on our economy. Negative or positive you make up your mind on how immigration effects us.
  •
Definitely a topic I always find myself neutral. I try to have positive outlooks with the U.S. being the number 1 with the immigration. I get that most immigrants come here for the American dream (freedom) but then I think shouldn't they come here the right way by becoming a citizen first? Since we would have to as well if we were to go live in their countries. Then I see stuff on the news in the U.S. about shootings, bombs, etc caused by an immigrant. That would be my negative outlook.

This article was very interesting. I have often wondered what the effects of immigration are, and if they affect the economy positively or negatively.

Immigrants' Rights Are Human Rights | Amnesty International USA - 0 views

All immigrants, irrespective of their legal status, have human rights. Draconian security crackdowns have led to a wholesale assault on basic freedoms and rights. Immigrants need representation and assistance on securing human rights.

Immigration Issues in Arizona - 0 views

  •
Immigration is always a sensitive subject especially with Arizona being so close to the boarder. It is interesting to see a minister's perspective on immigration. The author believes that all immigrants are criminals. This shows a representation of many U.S citizens. Its also states that a law needs to be made in order to fix our "broken" immigration status. I do not exactly agree with this article, but it shows the perspective some have on the immigration status. A huge social issue.

Expanding Citizenship: Immigrants and the Vote - 1 views

  •
A touchy subject but one that has been increasingly more important in the United States, should illegal immigrants be able to vote? The research shows that that their votes play a major role in poles. I think that it's important for people to vote and have a say, but should everyone who comes into the U.S. be allowed to have such a say if not a citizen? Would Americans have that same right in their home country?
  •
I am an immigrant myself, i migrated here legally, i pay my taxes, receive no tax breaks even while i make little money, i do not have the ability to vote, and i have done the process through and through, without breaking the law. So i ask, why if i can't vote, should someone who has dodged taxes, came here illegally, and broken the laws of this generous country, have the ability to vote where i cannot?

Illegal immigrants must carry identification on them at all times. Whether you are legal or illegal if you fit the description then you have to carry your citizenship papers or some sort of U.S. identification.
  •

How Trump's Rush to Enact an Immigration Ban Unleashed Global Chaos - 0 views

  •
This article is talking about the immigration ban. Again Donald Trump is starting a chaotic mess that isn't necessary. We are the land of the free where many people come to escape their countries where they are treated terribly. Now we aren't a place for those people to feel safe.
  •
I feel our Presidents immigration policy is a double edged sword. I agree that we need to protect our boarders but I feel that he is going to far with his executive orders and way too fast. We don't need the world to hate us any more then they already do.

Arizonans react to Trump's Immigration ban - 2 views

  •
This article describes President Trumps ban on immigration. It describes that President Trump put a temporary ban on seven Muslim countries. Not only are Muslims not allowed to enter the U.S. but U.S. citizens are not allowed to re-enter the United states from those 7 Muslim countries.

I posted a similar article that went into depth about a certain airport. I can't believe that it also banned U.S. citizens from re-entering as well. It really is mind blowing.
  •
This article is another one about the Immigration issue we are facing. Since he put this temporary ban, there are people who are here legally in this country trying to travel, but then get detained at the airport just because of where they are coming from. This is not okay. I find this infuriating.
  •
This whole scenario is mind-blowing and shows what kind of person he is. How can he sit there and deny U.S CITIZENS re-entry to their country?! Makes me sick how intolerant some people still are. I think about the world my daughters will have to grow up in and it scares me.
  •
Not trying to be rude or anything but Trump is obviously not try to have people actually like him as the new president. To ban people who have green cards from re-enrtering the U.S is very wrong.

This article talks about Torres, an illegal immigrant, who joined the military in hopes of a better future even though he knew it was a risk by doing so. He recently became a citizen by his case being one of a kind. He didn't have a criminal record compared to other military veterans who served and got convicted but were sent back to there country.
