Article - Are Your Students Using Wikis to Strengthen Vocabulary Skills? - Leading From... - 0 views

  • What if the students collaboratively developed a class wiki for their content vocabulary? This is how it works. You assign each student a word or group of words to research. After they have completed their research, they create a page for each word in the class wiki. When students are finished, the class will have their own wiki showing their classroom vocabulary. It's like a "mini Wikipedia" of content vocabulary for your class that can grow throughout the year!

WatchKnow - About - 0 views

  •
"We believe that everyone should have the same opportunity to learn. The best way to make this possible, we believe, is to organize into one, super directory the hundreds of thousands of good videos currently available on the Internet. To make this a reality, we invite teachers, instructors and educators to suggest videos for inclusion into our directory, and then to review, approve, and assign those videos into appropriate categories using a wiki framework and philosophy. The videos are the highest quality found on the World Wide Web, cover all major educational topics from elementary to secondary schools (or age range 1 - 18), and are Kid Safe!"

This would be a good site to have available to students on a moodle or wiki as a student resource. It would be very helpful when students are writing and want to vary their words.
