Glogster is a great tool for having students create collages of information they've found and or created. Students can combine videos, images, text, and audio into one online display that can stand alone or be embedded into a blog, website, or wiki. For example, Civics students can create Glogster "glogs" about the candidates running for political office this fall.

Tool to check text & URLs for plagiarism. Paste text into a box, click "Track Plagiarisims," and results include URLs of places text is found. It flat out works!

"How is it now that so many adults are reduced to tears when confronted by an unfamiliar technology?" One answer is that, "We have learned to become helpless; most likely by playing the traditional game of 'school'." Our evaluations through PD surveys, conversations, and focus groups indicate that teachers feel they don't use technology because they don't have enough training. Tom Whitby advises educators hesitant to use the modern tools of today, to stop relying on others and take ownership of their learning and suggests this can be done through developing a personal learning network.

Join.me allows Mac and Windows users to quickly share their screens with each other and work together. The person offering the screen share must download the software, and then just give your nine digit access number to your collaborators to give them access to your screen and to converse with you. It could be a very handy tool for sharing your screen with students to walk them through an application or give to give a virtual presentation. Join.me could also be useful for professional development in which you're introducing colleagues to the ins and outs of a program.

Great tool that lets you draw on your webpages - insert text comments & arrows - and you can publish the pages if you like. Nice freeware app. Simply drag an icon to the bookmark's toolbar.

Dropbox is a great Web 2.0 tool for students & teachers. Check out the ideas for using it. I use it as a place to save all of my documents & it syncs & makes accessible files from any computer. Very cool! Free 5GB...

One teacher shows how they use Voicethread. The examples are great and shows how he has thought through how to make it a collaborative tool.He also has done a couple on poetry, hate, and genocide. Outlines each level of the taxonomy by showing attributes for each level, keywords used in writing that demonstrate that level, and questions you would ask to see that level in a student's writing. Examples of objectives written for each level of Bloom's Taxonomy and activities and assessment tools based on those objectives. Common key verbs used in drafting objectives are also listed for each level.

Free Remote Desktop, Web Conferencing & Online Meetings - great tool for sharing desktops. I'll be using it for desktop support, but it would also be cool to use

Great ways to make word clouds. I use Wordle, but plan on trying some of the other tools.

SimpleShare is a Mac and Windows based app for sharing files, screenshots and screencasts across the box.net cloud storage system. We've shown you a simple hack for direct right-click in Windows uploading before, but this new free app makes the process even simpler. Best of all it's available for both Windows and Mac, and it's a joy to use.

Enter the Group is a new free service offering collaborative project management for groups. Enter the Group features a calendar, messaging, and file sharing for your group members. If you want to keep your project just between friends, you can create a private group. If you want the whole world to see your project, you can make a public group. Users can also login using FB login/passwords.  I'm interested in checking out the possibility of virtual classrooms and using it to manage PBL projects. This might be a good tool for SISUHSD's emphasis on PBL. 

Simple way to cut only the part of a YouTube video you want others to see. Can't download the edited video, but you can share them with a URL by FB, Twitter, etc. or embed it on a website or blog.. Nice tool!

Students can create their own sounds & music and avoid copyright issues.
