"Mr. Robb's Math is a YouTube channel containing 555 videos produced by high school mathematics teacher Bradley Robb. Mr. Robb's videos explain and demonstrate solving problems in Algebra I, Algebra II, and Calculus. Most of the videos are recorded while Mr. Robb is teaching. Planet Nutshell produces short animated videos to explain products, services, and concepts. One of their series of videos is all about the Internet and Internet safety for K-12 students. The series is called NetSafe and it has 17 episodes that were produced for the Utah Education Network. The videos are labeled with grade levels so that students in high school don't watch videos designed for K-3 students. (Via Free Tech for Teachers)

Critical Past is a collection of more than 57,000 historical videos and more than 7 million historical photos. All of the photos and videos are royalty free, archival stock footage. When TED launched its educational website for younger students last week, I think teachers everywhere realised they had to up their game. The 3-10 minute videos are designed to encourage curiosity and show how the world works using compelling animation and the audible explanations of a gifted teacher.  Even if you're not in high school, the videos are sometimes fascinating, sometimes kinda strange, but generally very cool. Here are some of the best videos that are designed to amaze and challenge your brain.

Ideas on how to embed and use Google Forms to track the understanding of students when watching assigned videos, either lectures or other videos. Using the form makes is easy to compile the response of students and provides for discussions and additional teaching of concepts. This teacher copied and pasted the response into Wordle and it gives a sense of what students found to be of significance in the video.

SchoolTube.com is the nation's largest K-12 moderated video sharing website that provides students and educators with a safe and FREE video sharing website that is exclusively endorsed by leading education associations. *Also, for teachers in districts where YouTube is restricted, YouTube videos can be stored and shared without the unnecessary ads or comments.

Some cool tools to edit video online - some will allow downloading in different formats after the editing is completed. This makes it easy then to upload into Prezis, Schooltube, or Google Docs, and then share the videos.

10:44 Documentary by AT&T - Don't Text While Driving Watch AT&T's new 10-minute documentary titled "The Last Text," featuring stories of real individuals whose lives have been adversely affected by texting behind the wheel. Includes a short video on student reactions to the video. Videos can be requested for download. AT&T created this documentary as part of its "It Can Wait" campaign because we want consumers be safe while using our technology. We are grateful and humbled by the bravery of the people who agreed to be on camera for the documentary. We would have no story to tell without them.

Simple way to cut only the part of a YouTube video you want others to see. Can't download the edited video, but you can share them with a URL by FB, Twitter, etc. or embed it on a website or blog.. Nice tool!

How is it this video (or others) went "viral". Turns out it may be profit driven more than "outrage" at education and a demonstration of poor digital citizenship. Audrey Watters will give you a perspective that is informative and eye-opening. It will help you to better understand, as well, the power of social media in the construction of "truth".

Great collection of math & science videos - especially for high school level. Each video has a transcript, which I though was helpful. This is a must have link on resources for students, and helpful for teachers as they look at presenting information.

Mathmaster.org is a free resource for your school where students can make use of the extensive video library (Khan Academy) and endless supply of printable math worksheets from any computer with access to the web. The video library covers K-12 math, science and other topics. Each video is approximately 10 minutes long and easy to follow. The website gives you the ability to easily customize each worksheet to target your student's specific needs
