Last term the Library Team at Joeys excelled themselves in launching an amazing "Body in the Library" investigative program in collaboration with the Science and English faculties. I promised to share this after talking about it at EduBloggerCon 2010 in Denver. So here are some more of the details!

Story Dogs is a reading support program targeted at year 2 students who struggle with their reading or confidence. The program accredits dogs and their owners to form a Dog Team which then enters schools at a set time each week.

This guide provides a framework for New Zealand school library teams to create your own school library handbook. It covers the educational and management aspects of an effective school library as well as operational procedures.

Make It Happen! is an approach that improves middle school education for students with diverse learning abilities. In the Make It Happen! approach, interdisciplinary teams of teachers design and implement inquiry-based I-Search Units and integrate technology into these units in meaningful ways to benefit students.

The School Library Impact Measure (SLIM) is a toolkit that enables you to assess student learning through guided inquiry in the school library. It consists of four instruments that elicit students' reflections on their learning at three points in their inquiry process. The toolkit will enable collaborating school librarian - teacher teams to chart changes in students' knowledge and experiences throughout the process.
