"The aim of this wiki is to provide a useful set of ICTs and other tech tools for Science Teachers to utilise in their classrooms.
Each type of technology will be briefly explained and a classroom example will also be attached, together with a comprehensive list of links."
Welcome to the Games-based Learning collection of resources. Here you will find a range of ready to use resources, adaptable resources and lesson plans/suggestions for playful approaches to learning across the curriculum, as well as for encouraging learners to become creators of their own games. Why not contribute your own ideas? We'll be looking for featured resources and contributors that we can include in the updated collection at the end of January!
Create a url which lets colleagues and students send you a screencast video when they are having a problem (hopefully just IT issues, therapy is not my job!) I love this resource, although it keeps me busy.

Like a Google Sketchup for drama staging. An excellent resource that should be in any drama teacher's tool kit. Set your staging virtually without lifting any scenery or changing any light gels.

" Each subject portal also contains at least one of our popular Top Ten Teaching... publications, that describe freely available ICT resources to support the learning and teaching of the subject in the classroom."
This is a 'must try' iPad app where you can design a 3D creature. Tap, drag and pinch your creation until it is just right and then 'paint' it with the patterns you want. It's a great resource to use alongside creative writing or science work. If you have access to a 3D printer you can even fabricate your design. Download the app at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/123d-creature/id594014056.

This is a must try site which provides an amazing 3D world which teaches English and maths core skills. Players race against two other randomly chosen online players of a similar level. The questions start out very easy and adapt to the performance of the player. The questions are read out and some are displayed on the screen. The player just clicks on the correct multiple choice answer to increase their speed. There is a download for PCs and Macs as well as apps for iPad and Android. There are teacher accounts which allow you to make logins for lots of children quickly. When there log in students will be asked to design an avatar. Because the resource requires a sizeable download it takes a little time to set up, but because it runs on your local device game play is very smooth and quick.

A useful site that allows users to dictate and generate text. A great resource for children with writing difficulties to get their ideas written quickly. It works with a range of languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese and more. For mistakes, the site offers alternative words with similar pronunciation. Only works with Chrome.
