Seems like there is a dearth of mPortfolios that use open platforms and are not locked into proprietary systems. However, one interesting potential feature that I saw on the page was the idea of voice-to-text for uploading into e-Portfolios. Am currently working on a mobile app that integrates with Google Sites. Shall explore the voice-to-text idea where possible

Gmail Meter is an Apps Script which runs on the first day of every month and sends you an email containing different statistics about your Inbox. In a similar way to how recently introduced Google Account Activity gives key stats about how you’ve used your Google Account, Gmail Meter gives you different types of statistics that will help you analyze your Gmail habits.

a school that implements ePortfolios will mirror the collaborative patterns in academia and industry, where research and development are collaborative, peer-reviewed, and cumulative. Such schools not only make the necessary evolution from individual training to community learning, but effectively prepare students for the world of knowledge work.

Thanks Bernard! After looking at the code, it's almost perfect except for one thing: we need to store the form on our own server. (But yes, the Google spreadsheet linked to the form should still be updated automagically.) Would it be ok to use CeL's own server to host our own HTML pages for this purpose?
-
If it's CeL services or related materials, having it in CeL server is not an issue. example : e-Fiesta 2012 registration page. For personal usage or for AGs I advise the htmls to be stored on their own server space.

Google Drive Electronic Signature Integration | RightSignature Blog - 1 views

Nice find. I wonder how many other folks in and outside NIE will be open to this form of signing. Maybe it is time to push those who are willing to explore this option!
-
I have tried that. 5 forms for free version. Unlike Doodle, you can remove the old item and free up for new added item. Once the form is signed, no way to remove it. The paid version is USD$49 per month for business and mobile ready. I understand that CUS has also subscribed to some kind of signing software, will check that out.
-
I understand from Lay Choo, It is also under CUS roadmap to implement signature software to campus if they find the signature software good. They are now using eSignDoc from softpro. I recommend RightSignature to her instead :)

Hi Ashley, I've been reading through this section for developers: http://tincanapi.com/page-developers/. From what I understand so far, an LRS should do at least one of the following: - Standardize and serialize the various types of data from different networks (e.g. Twitter, Facebook) into an LMS-friendly format - Act as a stand-alone enterprise-level web-service from which other web-services can extract the collated data for their own usage. The Tin Can APIs look useful so far for our own use (including mobile support), since they support Javascript, Objective C and Java. I believe these APIs can link up with Google Enterprise Apps for greater LRS functionality too.

Ah, that's good news indeed if Google Enterprise Apps are friendly towards this strategy. Keep monitoring. Things tend to change rapidly with Google!
Adobe Demos Flash-to-HTML5 Conversion Tool [VIDEO] - 1 views
-
At Adobe’s MAX conference the other night, that message was made manifest with a live demonstration of a Flash to HTML5 conversion tool, which is currently in the works. The tool is incredibly impressive in that it can convert full Flash animation into HTML5 on the fly
-
Watch the demonstration video to get an idea of how users will be able to take elements from within the newly converted HTML5 code to re-insert elsewhere on a web page
-
Those animations or interactions will now be viewable on all kinds of devices — including the iPhone () and iPad. This is where we think that this HTML5 conversion tool has real possibilities. It’s one thing to be able to convert a movie or animation
