    For MDs, Video Team and users of adobe products. We may face another licensing issues with their monthly subscriptions plan, so be prepared to hop onto the cloud, which means new workflow for us as well. Adobe announced that they will not release any more box sets and will not be supporting new features for existing versions. Seems like everyone on board Adobe platforms will be forced to get Adobe CC subscriptions next round.     Really funny!  Perhaps we could play on this idea for e-Fiesta... maybe have a camera where we invite people to look into the camera and find their faces suddenly popping up in a poster of themselves - complete with the #efiesta tag, or something like that. What strikes me is the use of humour and fun in marketing and publicity, especially when it comes to social media. E.g. I esp like how the burly man was very amused at a Hulk'd  version of himself standing over a burning city. People do like to see positive photos of themselves - especially when done by others. (But wonder how the MDs would feel having to photoshop in real-time haha. :D)

    A very interesting journal essay that points out how info overload is not a new problem, but one that has existed ever since the first books. The writer examines how people in the previous centuries used the then-new technology of printing to help them handle the "plague of books" that was overwhelming their libraries. He then reminds us, that at the core of it all, it is not the technology itself that enables and empowers learning, but an ecology of human-tech interaction that helps us learn more effectively in today's Toffler-esque world.     I have tried that. 5 forms for free version. Unlike Doodle, you can remove the old item and free up for new added item. Once the form is signed, no way to remove it. The paid version is USD$49 per month for business and mobile ready. I understand that CUS has also subscribed to some kind of signing software, will check that out.

    I understand from Lay Choo, It is also under CUS roadmap to implement signature software to campus if they find the signature software good. They are now using eSignDoc from softpro. I recommend RightSignature to her instead :)

If you are still thinking a mobile web app is just a tear down simplified version of the actual website, you should watch this. Well I was thinking it was supposed to be that way a couple months back. * Be warned contents can get technical and is long but it's better than reading lines of texts.

  • My Moodle isn't a replacement for the Moodle interface; rather, it just provides some additional tools tailored specifically for mobile users. These include the ability to: Capture video, still images, and audio and upload those to Moodle; Upload images and video from users' existing libraries; E-mail and message participants in users' courses; Add notes about users; Add course participants to users' iPhone contact lists; Get help through MoodleDocs; and Access the full Moodle site. The problem, as Pang puts it, is that "Technologies that were supposed to help us think better, work more efficiently, and connect more meaningfully with others now interrupt us, divide our attention, and stretch us thin."

  • Pang suggests that we don't have to choose between information technology and contemplation, and suggests contemplative computing as a new way forward. He describes contemplative computing as something you do, not a product. But the principles of contemplative computing could be extending to application design. "The problem is that today's information technologies are often poorly-designed and thoughtlessly used: they're like unreliable prosthetics that we have to depend on, but can't quite control or trust," Pang says.

  • You might be surprised to see "support mind wandering" on the list. But Pang makes a distinction between mind wandering and distraction, and points out the value creative value of mind wandering and day dreaming (for more on this subject, check out this article by Jonah Lehrer, though Lehrer doesn't really make the distinction between distraction and mind wandering).

    A fascinating post on "contemplative computing", where computing can be used to facilitate and even enhance creative education/workflow process... where the software would allow you to try out multiple versions of a music composition / essay / video seamlessly... while enabling you to wander around exploring on relevant topics on Wikipedia without getting distracted off-topic! :)
