The text will be converted to speech (20 languages/ 70+ voices) as a voiceover. The completed slides and audio are then converted to video and published on YouTube. This might be a fun project for students, and may possibly help with their writing skills.

@Ignatia Webs: Designing #mLearning for people with #disabilities or learning difficulties - 1 views

  •
Ignatia suggests using a private wiki because of text-to-speech options, and secure social media-driven learning locations, such as a movie archive on Facebook. Subtitle options may be difficult with, e.g., YouTube, if you have an accent, but it can be done with an audio recorder (though it is labor intensive). This might be a good blog to follow further.

Free Technology for Teachers: How to Create an Audio Slideshow With Annotations in YouTube - 1 views

You can pick from thousands of audio tracks to match to your slides. After adding your slides and selecting an audio track you can add speech bubbles to your slides." "Creating an audio slideshow with annotations in YouTube is a good way for students to share the highlights of some basic research that they have conducted. " However, the audio is really just background music. I wonder if it could be adapted to adding a teacher- or student-made spoken audio track. R. Byrne

ANVILL | National Virtual Language Lab - 4 views

  •
"ANVILL (A National Virtual Language Lab) is a speech-based toolbox for language teachers. Like the language lab console of old, it's focused on the practice of oral/aural language, but at its core are very modern web-based audio and video tools from duber dot com and the University of Oregon: Voiceboards, LiveChat, and Quizzes and Surveys. Our newest tool, TCast, allows teachers to record and place audio or video files anywhere in a lesson--in 3 easy steps. Each of these tools really opens up the scope and sequence of lessons centered around spoken language tasks." Jeff Magoto has done a great presentation on how to use ANVILL, which is a wonderful, free, A/V tool available now internationally.
