This seems like a great app for creating presentations while also controlling a smartboard and your computer from your iPad.

Among these errors are focusing on content apps instead of tools like Voicethread; lack of teacher guidance/management in using devices for learning; treating iPad as if it were a laptop instead of using its apps to enhance computer-assisted learning; teaching iPads as a multi-user device shared on carts across classrooms (remember the computers in closets?); and failing to communicate with parents and teachers about why iPads might be good for class.

Points out the advantages of using a tablet device for content-creation. It's fast, mobile, and economical: "We've had computers in schools for years, but in reality many (most?) classroom teachers don't and never did have their students making podcasts, movies, eBooks and websites. Doing so seems too time consuming and for many non-technical teachers the learning curve appears disproportionate to the benefits realised. "But producing comparable creative content on an iPad is relatively quick, simple, yields impressive results with minimal fuss, and the learning curve is … well, there almost isn't one! There is no need to connect an external microphone (the built-in one is better than that in any laptop), no need to adjust recording levels, no need to use a pop-filter. No need to import media from a recording device to the editing device (becasue they are one and the same), and it's unnecessary to allow 10 minutes at the end of a class, to save, unplug devices, shut down and stow the laptops. Instead, when the bell sounds, students simply flip their iPad cases closed and walk to the next class!"

Although this is just a lead-in to the Edudemic Magazine iPad app (free to subscribers), this blog article has the short list in its graphic. Take a look for some ideas on how to use the iPad to "consume, collaborate, and produce."

"Here are the top five iPad apps that can serve as PowerPoint alternatives." If you are a Mac addict, there are some juicy apps here. And most will work on iMac as well as iPhone and iPad.

"if you use iBooks on Ipad or iphone than you also highlight some important text while reading ,and you wondered how good it can be to extract only highlighted part of that book which you want to revise in future …" Looks a little complex at first blush, but seems to work.

Despite the explanatory text, this app is indeed ready to download for iPad. This is a nice use of technology to explain other technologies. You go through a browser screen to a Website, then draw on the iPad screen to demonstrate functionality while the app records what you do. What a cool app.

This is to be the first of a series of articles exploring the purposes and pedagogy of various smart technology apps. The "Padagogy Wheel" looks like a good start, as is the tool known as "iPad As..." by edtechteacher.org.

This might be a fun way to get students to remember what they did the day before: snap some photos during the course of the day, then run them as a slideshow as the kids are coming into class the next day. iPad is cool.

So far iPad only, but their site at knowmia.com also gives tips for creating lessons using other tools and storing them at their website.

Great notes to help you get more from your iPad: create folders, use a split screen, search your apps, have a text read to your students, mirror content on an HD TV or connected to a projector, save a Web page to read later, find some good content creating apps.

You can now use a third-party app to mirror your iPad/iPhone on a computer (Mac or Windows). This app is now called Reflector, however. Check it out at http://www.airsquirrels.com/reflector/. Play your presentations without a projector.

"Create and share great video lessons with your iPad or browser." This is a great tool for getting students talking, or for creating a lively presentation. You can upload a picture, or draw from scratch, as on a blackboard or whiteboard. Easy to use, free download, and available from the App Store for smart phone or iPad.
