This is an essential video to learn how to use Twitter effectively. If you are interested in mobile social media Twitter is needed, but TweetDeck helps you organize and use a variety of social networking tools. (This set of videos doesn't deal with the iPhone and iPad versions of TweetDeck, however.)

A simple way to share audio clips on Twitter, Facebook, iPhone, Android, etc.

This might be a great tool for an extended project, e.g., have your students create an infospot audio guide to their local community. Lots of examples are linked on the front page, and there is an iPhone app to scan, listen, and record wherever you happen to be. There are currently over 1300 guides created by users, and more coming.

Audiobook is a mobile and web platform that lets you or your students create podcasts with computer or iPhone/Android.

"Chirbit is a free online tool for audio sharing. Chirbit enables users to record, upload, listen to and share sound bites easily. Chirbit is simple, useful and fun. You can now use iPhone Voice Memos to post to chirbit."

"Groupboard is a free online whiteboard and chat app that can be easily embedded into your website. It works on any web browser including iPhone, iPad and Android with no downloads or plugins required." Has drawing tools. Would be great for tutoring or videoconferencing. Write, draw, type, upload documents.

This is a nice way to have students create their own good study habits, and there is an iPhone App available too You can also search for flashcards made by other students. Better than Rosetta Stone.

Prezi is a flashy presentation program, but once you master the intricacies, creates very beautiful and visual compelling presentations. One advantage over the old PowerPoint is the ability to show how ideas relate to one another visually -- like visual Venn diagrams that swirl in and out, that grow as their significance increases. Worth a try. And available from the cloud, desktop, iPhone, and iPad.

Audio and some video titl at these sites are free. I think you might be able to use a desktop recorder like Audacity to record a book to a set of files to take with you, or put on an iPhone. (Avoid the ads at the top of this page--the article is below.)

"We currently teach multiple courses for a total of 12 or 13 different lab classes. Each class has 50-60 students and can have up to two or three graded assignments in a given day. Paper grading takes too long and transferring thousands of grades to our computerized grade forms has huge potential for human error. Grading with a spreadsheet, even on a tablet, becomes too slow with so many rows and columns. So we made Green Gradebook to solve our problems.
