A robust, faculty-driven resource site from Oregon State University supporting the development of hybrid courses. Design documents excerpted from the work of OSU faculty and short mini-presentations on hybrid design are just a couple of the features of this site.

Perfect kind of resource I'm looking to collect and be able to share with faculty colleagues on my campus. Examples (or maybe testimonials!) from real, live faculty members are often so much more powerful than hypotheticals.

This is a great resource that I had yet to discover so thank you for sharing! I agree with the individual above that examples from faculty members are so much more powerful. Even having this in video form than written form brings so much more conveyance of the experience.

As we look at quality assurance in Wk 5, the last two pillars provide ways to answer the question as to whether or not our teaching in the blended course was effective. While the 5 are really aimed at an overall view of online course quality, they also map to the blended environment. Plus, it's a short read! :)

G. Conole, et al. (2004) provide an interesting perspective on how technology tools might be mapped against your learning intent. I recommend this strategy when deciding how to blend.

Blended learning was statistically significantly better than traditional learning in all domains of the educational environment, except for social perception, and in all types of examination: written, objective structured clinical and case scenarios.

I liked the term "techno expression" , and I related it immediately with the concept "sensemaking artifact" by George Siemens. I think both are similar and share the same idea of innovative and "authentic" assignments.

This is quite informal and general, but the good thing is that they are only infographics and you can read the information quite quickly. I use it as a first contact or introduction to a point/a theme.

Interesting to think about leveraging our "localness". This is part of broader research from Sloan that posits that local universities and colleges can leverage their local brand when they establish quality online or blended courses. Not everyone is going to do the MOOC at Harvard just because it is being offered by a big name university. They may well go with a trusted local brand particularly if we offer a blend of online and personalised experience.

A good resource here. JISCNetskills provides training throughout the UK Higher Ed sector and they have a lot of their course guides online. This gives a very good basic introduction to theories and models of elearning. Some good ideas on sequencing.

I think creating a blended course for language teachers (in my case English) is a real challenge, especially when you have to decide the moment to do speaking practice (online) or (F2f). This resource gives you among other things, a guide to create language learning blended courses. Suuper cool! for EFL(English as a foreign language) teachers.

Blended or hybrid learning, an instructional delivery mode in which instruction is conducted partly online and partly face-to-face, has emerged as one of the fastest-growing and most successful instructional models to deliver flexible learning options for today's learners. This site I think would serve us instructional designers who, after this MOOC would have to deliver professional development training to our faculty. This, together with the course materials in BlendKit would make for an awesome PD experience.

I have found this study case quite interesting. I thing it will be especially useful for those who (like me) have used the ADDIE method for their f2f course design.

This paper proposes a new model of blended learning in which physical teaching environments give way to time. Time and synchronicity become the primary elements of the learning environments. In addition, the authors suggest that the time-based model as an educational "new normal" results in technologies as enablers rather than disruptors of learning continuity.
