Eugene A Go-Go is an online hub for people in Lane County to find out local art events, venues, and artists. It provides culture activities happening throughout Eugene from festivals, performances and exhibits to classes, auditions and ways to engage with the arts through volunteer and board opportunities.

The JSMA is one of the many local museums here on campus displaying a range of art for our local community; "The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art enhances the University of Oregon's academic mission and furthers the appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts for the general public".

"ArtsJournal was founded September 13, 1999 in the heady days of the dotcom boom. The site is a digest of some of the best arts and cultural journalism in the English-speaking world. Stories from sites that charge for access have generally been excluded. The current AJ site is the fifth design. The Market is open every Saturday, rain or shine, from the first Saturday in April through mid-November on the Park Blocks at 8th & Oak in downtown Eugene. The hours are 10 AM to 5 PM. On the weekend before Thanksgiving the Market opens its Holiday Market which runs weekends through Christmas Eve at the Lane County Fairgrounds.

This is programs is mainly designed as summer and after school programs about science here in Eugene, Oregon. Not only does it teach kids about science and nature but it combines that with art projects such as taking plants and other objects from the forest and creating sculptures out of them. It is a great example of not only art education but the interrelations involved in arts as well.

Art can be expressed in many different forms. Dance turns into art when the dancer (or artist) uses normal moves and makes them extraordinary by telling a story with their choreography.

Thank you! That was hilarious, but at the same time... thought provoking. I very much agree that art needs to elicit an emotional response or a narrative. It's got to move the viewer in some way...as far as I'm concerned, anyway. And who doesn't love Creature Comforts?

Founded in 1846, the Smithsonian is the world's largest museum and research complex, consisting of 19 museums and galleries, the National Zoological Park, and nine research facilities.

I visited the Smithsonian museums when I was in 8th grade and still have very distinct memories from the trip! Loved all the history you are surrounded by. Great place to visit within your lifetime.

When I was younger I visited the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. I believe it was then that sparked my interest in aerial vehicles that I have had and continued to have today. I have the arts and cultural world to thank for that.

We might now have neurological proof that artists actually are different creatures from everyone else on the planet. According to a study published in Neurolmage, researchers believe that artists have brains that are structurally different from non-artists. It appears that there's now justifiable support for the idiom "she's just wired differently, idk."
