It addresses the contingent issue of how citizens treat the environment and how we are wasteful with certain resources. This ad appeals to pathos because it directly shows how it affects fish and other creatures who live in the water we mistreat. Also, it is kairotic because this ad came out around the same time as the BP oil spill. Please tell me you remember this commercial?! Jif peanut butter has situated ethos because it is already well known. With the slogan "Choosey mom's choose Jif", they use an enthymeme assuming that ordinary mom[s that don't care as much would choose peanut butter that wasn't as good. The rhetor also uses pathos by showing two cute little boys sharing thier favorite snack, tugging on the audience's emotions.

I agree with everything present in the commercial. I think the rhetor of this commercial is trying to show the importance of pathos in advertising. Jif peanut butter is clearly trying to appeal to normal middle class families with young kids. I think this ad is effective because it shows people that normal families just like them use Jif, almost like a social norm in society.

I found this interview when searching for rhetoric speeches. Michelle has situated ethos because she has political power as well as the fact that she has been in many commercials similar to this topic before. In addition, Mrs. Obama uses pathos with appealing to the fact that many children go hungry or eat unhealthy and we can do something to help them. Overall, I thought Michelle Obama was very persuasive in this interview and really turned heads to what is going on with the youth of America.

I came across this article on Facebook and I was really struck by the pictures. This is a great example of visual rhetoric. Each image causes you to think and respond to the culture shown in it. The collection of pictures seeks to persuade the viewers that there is so much more going on in the world than what we know in America. Like it says in the description, our world is not simple or perfect and these pictures show the real struggles in the world. The pictures definitely appeal to pathos, especially each photo with children. Contingent issues like war and gay marriage are shown in the photographs. I love how the pictures can capture an entire story and prompt so much thought.

These pictures are very moving and the author intended it to be that way. The pictures appeal to the audiences patriotic side at times and also appeal to sadness or great respect. I know it is long but these pictures are truly worth taking your time to look at.
