Taylor Swift interview with Ellen Degeneres about relationships - 0 views

  •
Taylor Swift is renowned for her numerous short term relationships that lead to chart topping songs. Though in this interview she insists that she doesn't want be (isn't) the stereotypical girl who had a long chain of never ending boyfriends. In reality she of course contradicts herself by continuing to live up to this reputation of numerous boyfriends that she has made for herself.

Twitter - The Musical - YouTube - 1 views

Upon finding this video i thought it was quite interesting in relation to our popular culture class. Whilst social media is part of popular culture this video, 'musicalised' Twitter! In part it is satirising what twitter has become in that people write about absolutely anything and so we are becoming 'fools', also that the celebrity world (such as Lady Gaga vs Perez Hilton) can be watched in your home and you don't even have to leave your bed! However it also emphasises the positives of social media where everyone is now  ''connected far and wide''and that the world is intertwined. Therefore the message presented is that twitter is what you make it.

▶ Bastille cover Miley Cyrus' We Can't Stop in the Live Lounge - YouTube - 1 views

Bastille does a very cool cover of Miley's "We Can't Stop" and change the lyrics up a little bit at the end and include some of "Achy Breaky Heart" into it. One of the comments under the video points out how they are using the intro to "Lose Yourself" by Eminem to suggest Miley is "losing herself".

I love Bastille and I love this cover! I also liked how they changed up the song and made it a comment about Miley herself.
