Lady Gaga's personal assistant is suing her for missed wages after working serious overtime and long hours. Gaga's response is that the luxuries provided make up for pay. (Note: This Mail Online article is more interested in the tit-for-tat and drama of it all rather than the legal issues involved.)

I found this lyric video for Childish Gambino's (aka Donald Glover) new single 3005 extremely interesting because instead of your typical lyric video affair, it is set up as a online chat, with Gambino's lyrics being posted as the messages he's sending to the girl in the chat, who occasionally posts responses, and dances around to the music. It is an interesting and clever use of the lyric video

After learning that Miley Cyrus sees her as a model, Sinead O'Connor wrote her an open letter urging her to see that corporations are using her and will leave her out to dry once she's "used up." Cyrus's unfortunate response on Twitter was to call her crazy.

This blog post talks about how Miley Cyrus is a genius because "she doesn't just talk like a bad girl, she behaves like one...if you're a musician, that's an incredible place to be."  Sinead O'Connor also wrote a letter to Miley about empowerment.

I feel Cyrus' response to this letter so shocking by talking about Sinead O'Connor having had mental illness and re-tweeting post O'Connor said whilst mentally ill. It appears O'Connor meant well and Cyrus' reaction was uncalled and down right mean. This however may be said for the shock value that it is been made clear Miley Cryrus is all about now!!

Zoe, I agree that Cyrus's response was awful--that rather than deal with issues, she taunts and resorts to attacking her for her mental illness, which especially bothers me.

A parody response to Thicke's "Blurred Lines" about consent

It's interesting how we had discussed in class what is of value and what is junk. This journalist insisted to report 'real news'.

I also liked this video, i thought it was obviously a story in which the reporter didn't want to cover. But i would love to see her full reasoning behind why she refused to do so.

I posted this article in response to the articles about Miley Cyrus smoking weed on stage. This is Lady Gaga doing the same thing and like Cyrus she is also in Amsterdam. I don't understand what the fuss is about it's legal in the Netherlands so really why bother? These artist never smoke tobacco or drink alcohol on stage and these are legal substances in most places, plus they would impare their performances which fans pay money to see. I would be so annoyed that I payed money to watch an artsist get high on stage and then perform not because its predominately an illegal substance but surely they want to be at their best and their fans want to see them at their best.

I agree that people may have gone overboard with miley when you compare her to gaga because she has done the exact same thing. I think the reason for this is because people still have this goody-goody, disney image of miley and cannot still tear themselves away to look at her in this new light. Also Gaga never started out the same way as miley so i don't think people really care if she smoked weed or had a drink on stage, therefore i think origins play a big role for the perceptions of people in relation to artists such as miley and gaga.

Things are getting a bit ugly between O'Connor and Cyrus in the response to Miley's twitter reaction to O'Connor's letter.

This is the video I chose for my response to Gayle Rubin's article, I find this video interesting because two girls kiss and are clearly still being judged by society.

This video is in response to Emily's post regarding Katy Perry and the back lash she faces after agreeing to do a pepsi commercial. I absolutly loved this commerical with Beyonce, Pink and Britney but hate pepsi therefore I was in no way encouraged to buy. The point I am trying to make is that the consumer groups in Emilys article seem to disrigard the fact that some people enjoy seeing there favourite artist anywhere and when an awesome video (in my opinon) like this is made I would not want to see it cancelled purely beacuse some people think Pepsi is bad for you. Surely having fun watching you three favourite singers is good for you?

This commercial is very intriguing because it reminds me of the old Pepsi commercials Britney Spears did back in the early 2000s. I wasn't as sucked into this one as I used to be by the old ones; it could be because I LOVED Britney Spears growing up, but I like Beyonce and still preferred the old commercials over this one. I'll post an old Pepsi commercial with just Britney Spears in it. Interesting find! :)
