EBSCO. Web. 17 Nov. 2010. This article will be fantastic as a counter argument to my paper. Every good paper needs some form of argument against to make the argument for even stronger. The journal is a study based on 79 high school students. These students in years prior had completed a course that dealt with managing their finances. The study showed that these kids were no smarter, or held any knowledge that other students didn't regarding financial literacy and spending. I thought that this journal was great because it showed that it might not even be the education that lead to poor spending. Also the students who took the course even noted that they did not spend their money in the right ways.

This article will be very strong for my paper. For the purpose of my research paper, I would like to focus on young adults. This journal article is directed specifically towards that. In the journal, there was a study done on high school and college level aged students who were asked questions regarding inflation, interest rates, and risk diversification. The best part of this article is that it show that students who are from a solid background, or have been to college, know much more about financiall literacy and how their money will spent in the future. I can use much of this information and studies in my paper.

In her journal she attempts to define exactly what financial literacy is. She argues that many other scholars will not address this part of the subject, which she thinks is the main problem. She also goes on to state just what kinds of obstacles people face who do not have the knowledge, or are not well educated on Financial Literacy. She even makes a statement that it is her belief that the US has problems with welfare because of lack of finance knowledge, especially when it comes to spending. The information will serve great purpose for my introduction and conclusion as well as backup for my main paragraphs.

It talks about the literacy that you need to become a succesful athletic trainer, and what you need to know about the job.

It goes deeper to explain the combination of sports training and literacy and how they can work together. It also tells you that the experimentation is occuring in China.

The article reports on obesity as an ongoing health crisis in the U.S. Defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or above, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that annual medical costs associated with the disease have increased. It is noted that obese people are subjected to bias, prejudice and discrimination. Treatment options for obesity are discussed, which include pharmacological intervention and bariatric surgery.

This article is about how parents can help teachers at school with their autistic children. Parents are using a research method called photovoice. Photovoice pairs participant-generated photographs with interviews. This helps teachers learn activities they participate in at home, how the parents engage with the children, and goals and needs of parents for helping their children. This article also explains how children react with these research methods, and how it helps them develop and learn.

Autism is found to be four more times common in boys than girls. People diagnosed with ASD either are high functioning or low functioning. The people who are considered high functioning are categorized as having Aspergers Syndrom in the autism spectrum. People diagnosed with AS are being placed in regular classrooms because typically they have average intelligence, or above average intelligence. Children with autism have difficulties understanding important information, literal thinking styles, comprehending and thinking abstractly, and have difficulties with their organization skills. Because of their inability to think abstractly, they have a difficult time learning how to read. Autistic children don't have a great attention span, they have trouble learning the rules of grammar, and they lack the motivation to learn to read. Hyperlexia is a term used to describe some autistic people. It means they have an understanding of the pronunciation and recognition of a word, but they lack the comprehension of the meaning of the word.

Media effects teens beliefs of alcohol by making drinking look desired. Teens are also more likely to copy their favorite or a cool character who is drinking alcohol. Media does affect the decision making process for children and teens.

This is an article about a a study done on exposure to alcohol and its effects on teens. It is linked to many dangers including drunk driving, sexually transmitted diseases, suicide, and disabilities. With the amount of advertisements for alcohol through television, magazines, radio, and many others teens are being influenced to drink.

This article explains the importance of the American Dietetics Association for elderly people with health care. Without the ADA most people would not know what their diets should consist. This association assessed the necessities for each persons medical condition. They consult dietitians to make sure that everyone is getting their proper needs. Without the ADA people would not be able to recognize what was necessary in order to be healthy.

Web. 15 Nov. 2010. This article explains how the ADA, SNA and SNE incorporated nutrition into schools. They are the ones who incorporated some health into our everyday teachings at school. These three groups have been advertising for a long time about what is necessary in order to stay healthy and be aware of your health.

A study was taken from both men and women and their body mass index. After the study the scientists reviewed that most of the adolescents scored very high in having problems or disorders. I can only conclude that here in the United States that we would have an even bigger problem than China.

People can not decide whether or not the students are making better nutritional decisions or not. It comes to the conclusion that students who know more about health and nutrition are more likely to develop these disorders because they are more aware of their intake. Therefore, there is no specific type of student which is affected by nutrition and health.

It emphasizes the benefits of right-brained thinking. The authors relate to Daniel Pink's idea of the Conceptual Age. They discuss how art fosters empathetic thinking that is crucial to the future generation.

This article is about how the media portrays drinking and how advertisements affect teenagers. There are certain tricks and even hidden messages behind the ads. When the ads are exposed to teenagers they think the message is normal and are more likely to go out and drink just the way they see it being done. Alcohol is such a common item to be advertised and adults who know right from wrong take different messages from the ads than children and teenagers.
