"Reforming agricultural education curriculum in tandem with technological advancement and development demands remains one of the key challenges facing African universities. Fara-Web Bureaucratic bottlenecks and inadequate resources have conspired to slow down the pace of curriculum reform in the midst of rapid technological advances especially in the field of agriculture.The cumulative effect of the dislocation between agricultural education curriculum in African universities and practical realities could have a negative impact on development in the continent. Hence, the African Network for Agriculture, Agroforestry and Natural Resources Education (ANAFE) led a side event on Curriculum reforms during the FARA Science week held from 15 - 20 July 2013 in Accra, Ghana. The main objective of the session was to identify bottlenecks to curricula reform and agree on key steps to undertake to reform TAE curricula in sub-Saharan Africa. The session was chaired by ANAFE's Board Chair, Prof. John D. Saka."

Du 14 au 16 septembre 2015, s'est tenu à Cotonou au Bénin un atelier d'harmonisation et de validation de curricula de master dans le cadre du projet "Construction en synergie avec les milieux socioprofessionels de masters innovants en agronomie durable en réseau dans 3 EES d'Afrique de l'Ouest".

"Du 8 au 12 juillet 2013, le PAPESAC intervient à Dolisie - Congo en faveur de l'Ecole Nationale des Eaux et Forêts de Mossendjo. Cette action intervient dans le cadre de l'appui technique de la GIZ au RIFFEAC à l'amélioration des curricula de formation. Après une première mission en septembre 2012, le PAPESAC et l'équipe de l'ENEF travaillent à la finalisation du curriculum de Brevet de Technicien Forestier, décliné en trois filières : "Aménagement et environnement", "Exploitation forestière" et "Industrie du bois". Un renforcement des capacités des enseignants est également réalisé, axé sur la Pédagogie et l'évaluation des compétences."

Déclaration d'Incheon, Objectifs de développement durable à l'horizon 2030, la mobilisation internationale en faveur d'une éducation de qualité pour tous est une priorité des acteurs du développement des systèmes éducatifs. De nombreux leviers peuvent permettre d'atteindre cet objectif : formation des enseignants, curricula d'enseignement, conditions d'apprentissage, gestion des établissements scolaires, lutte contre le redoublement et contre la violence à l'école, gouvernance des systèmes éducatifs du niveau central aux niveaux déconcentrés… C'est l'ensemble de la chaîne administrative et pédagogique du système éducatif qui doit être mobilisé.

The EGALE project will support partner HEIs in the development of an international consortium and new third level curricula (PhD) complying with international standards and capitalising on local expertise, including the spread of innovative and powerful teaching technologies such as distance learning. Relevant staff of the participating HEIs will be targeted to increase their qualifications.

In the last four years, ANAFE - together with its partners - has taken concrete actions to transform the delivery of agricultural education in Africa.
