  •
"Primary teachers (and in fact all teachers) are always on the look out for quality reading options for their students.  This is true for digital format books as well as more traditional book forms. When my six and seven-year old students read independently on their iPads, I want to offer them good options as well. Fortunately, I have found three worthwhile options for my six and seven year olds."

How to Disable Install Windows Updates and Shut Down Option in Windows Start Menu? - 0 views

  •
Windows Updates, as you know is a legitimate software update from Microsoft to make the operating system stable and secure for improved performance. By default the feature remains enabled, however, you have the option to configure it further. Set Windows to automatically install updates or get your permission prior to it. Generally, after Windows Update the system automatically shuts down due to the replacement of the Shut Down option in the Start menu with the "Install Updates and Shut Down" button. This phenomenon is sometime irritating.

With Book Creator 2.5 Released With a Fantastic New Sharing Option | iPad Apps for School - 0 views

  •
"Book Creator is currently my favorite iPad app for creating multimedia books on your iPad. The app costs $4.99 (less with volume purchasing), but it is well worth it. The latest updates to Book Creator allows you to export your books to ePub 3.0 format. The exported file can be opened an read in the Chrome web browser using the free Readium browser extension. This is a great option as it allows a parent who doesn't have an iPad at home to view his or her child's work at home"

So Many 3D Printing Options - How to Choose the Right One - 1 views

  •
"If you've looked into 3D printing, you know there are a lot of options - some good and some not so much. Since the technology is just beginning to enter classrooms and is new for most schools, choosing a good partner and printer is important when diving head first into this new world. There are plenty of schools which have experienced problems from purchasing machines that are no longer serviced or weren't made well, and avoiding these missteps can save everybody a lot of time, money and headache."

Free Technology for Teachers: Nearpod Introduces New Options for Delivering Lessons on ... - 0 views

  •
"Nearpod is a service for delivering lessons, quizzes, and polls to students through iPads. I reviewed Nearpod when it launched to the public in May. This week Nearpod introduced some convenient updates to their offerings. One of the the new features that I like is Web Share which lets teachers share websites with students in a safe browser environment. Another option that I like is a PIN system that allows students to access content that teachers share with them before a class meeting."

How to Record the iPad / iPhone Screen as Video with Reflector - 3 views

  •
" How to Record the iPad / iPhone Screen as Video with Reflector Sep 9, 2013 - Leave a Comment Record the iPhone / iPad Screen Recording and capturing the screen of an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch while in use is infinitely helpful for education, teaching, instructional guides, and what we do here at OSXDaily. If you've ever wondered how to record the screen of an iOS device you'll find there are a variety of options out there, but one of the best solutions is an app named Reflector. Cross platform compatible, Reflector allows iOS device screens to be mirrored directly onto a computer screen through AirPlay, plus it's loaded with easy screen recording abilities with a video export option, and allows for some alternate uses like live streams over the web and even audio streaming if video isn't needed. For this article, we're focusing on the screen recording ability of Reflector though, which is extremely easy to use. "

Book Creator + student designed curriculum = iTunes U - Book Creator app | Blog - 0 views

  •
"I think Book Creator is now one of my favourite creation apps!  Several of my Health Without Borders project groups are using Book Creator to develop their final product to teach elementary kids health concepts. They were pretty excited to get to use the new drawing option, as many found it difficult to find free for re-use images in Creative Commons or Wikimedia Commons  that were appropriate for their topic and target age group. They found the app very easy to work with and really had no questions for me at all.  They loved that they could AirDrop the book between group members so different people could contribute easily.  The voiceover option is also simple to use and works well with just the microphone on the iPad.  I was so impressed with their final product!"

Sendy: The (much) cheaper Mailchimp alternative - Daily Genius - 0 views

  •
"Whether you've got a blog, business, or just a large group of people you need to contact, you've probably looked into sending online newsletters. There are a ton of options out there. Most are similarly priced and offer a competitive suite of features. They're reliable, effective, and help you actually reach the people you want. But there's one big problem. They're all expensive. If you grow your subscriber list beyond about 2,500 people, you're going to start paying about $20-$30 per month to start. Once that list hits a couple thousand more people, you're going to be doubling that monthly cost. The sliding (up) scale terrifies me and made me hunt around for a better option. I didn't find one until just a few months ago. And I think Sendy might just be the future of newsletters."

Recording Your Keynote-based Presentation « Mike Pulsifer Photography - 0 views

  •
"Sometimes, we may find ourselves in a situation where we want to make our presentation (at least the audio part) and slides available for viewing at a later date. Fortunately, Keynote allows you to do this, by recording your presentation with the appropriately named option in the "Play" menu. Unfortunately, Keynote will only take one recording. You can't piece multiple recordings together. If you're like me and you feel more comfortable in front of an audience than recording your talk, this can be a problem. If I want to be sure of a clean, error-free recording, then the only reasonable option for me is to record it section by section."
