Microsoft Funds An iPad App That Generates Infinite Bedtime Stories | Co. Design - 4 views

  •
"My siblings and I were voracious readers as kids: Between Hans Christian Andersen and every last installment of Amelia Bedelia, my parents couldn't keep enough books on our shelves. If only we'd had the Infinite Adventure Machine. Developed as a spec project for Microsoft, it's a computer program that generates crude outlines for--you guessed it--an infinite number of children's stories. The only catch: You have to fill in the blanks."

How to Use Web 2.0 Toolbars in iPad Browsers « Symesposium - 3 views

  •
"Often you may come upon a website you wish to add to a web 2.0 resource like Diigo, Delicious, Evernote, Livebinder, ReadItLater, Instapaper, Shareholic, etc. On a computer browser, you can install extension toolbars to make quick work of it, but not so easily on the iPad. Not wanting to relegate the iPad to a second-class browsing too, you can make these tools work by copying the javascript code directly into the browser bookmark."

- Free Education Apps - 8 views

  •
"After reading many articles and comments from teachers, I notice a common question is "Are there any good apps for free?" The answer is yes! In addition, many apps offer a "lite" version to try before purchasing. Many of the lite versions just have advertisements so it's well worth installing, if it is a good app. "

Over 20 Good Apps to Use in BYOD Classroom ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning - 1 views

  •
"BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) is not only about students bringing their own devices to class and using them for educational purposes. It is much more than just a problem of hardware but is rather a question of what "learningware" students need to install and use with their devices. Most of the discussions on BYOD center around the accessibility and availability of devices together with the fact that students are experts of their own devices. Sounds good but not enough! Students need to be provided powerful educational apps to galvanize the learning gen inside of them. They need to be shown what apps work with which. Below is a Symbalo board featuring a wide variety of powerful web tools and apps perfect for BYOD classrooms. Click on the image below to access the interactive version of this board where you can access the links of each of these apps."

iPads in the Classroom at Clay Hill Elementary School - Leadership 360 - Education Week - 2 views

  •
"One of the biggest stumbling blocks on our road to successful iPad implementation was WiFi coverage and bandwidth. The Information Services department had to install new access points and optimize the access points we already had. We also found that we did not have enough bandwidth. Every time I launched a new App to the 200+ iPads on campus we exceeded our bandwidth and took every other Internet based function off line. Eventually though we did get our bandwidth more than doubled and that was very helpful."
