Since blogger is struggling a wee bit today, I thought I'd do my post for this class over here at my regular blog. I put quite a bit of work into this post so check it out. :)

Back to the Classics 2011 - 0 views

  •
While researching blogs on James Joyce I ran across this challenge. To help our reading habits and turning back to the classics. I thought it was a great idea. By joining it makes one more accountable to what one reads.

In Borges' "Library of Babel," the universe is one big library. The author of this piece mentions that the internet is becoming like Borges' Babel. Sooo interesting...

Literary Criticism: Map - 1 views

  •
Something I'm learning to do is look for things that have already been done in what I'm trying to do. Check out this map of literary theory. I think it could be "updated" to web 2.0 so it doesn't need as much explanation, but it's functional.

World to end on Saturday, say New York preachers - Yahoo! News - 1 views

  • "You've committed your life to Jesus. You know you're saved. But when the Rapture comes, what's to become of your loving pets who are left behind?" Eternal Earth-Bound Pets says on its website, offering to "take that burden off your mind." The post-doomsday pet rescue service already has 259 clients, who have paid $135 for the first pet and $20 for each additional pet at the same address, to ensure the faithful animal companions are looked after and loved even when their Christian owners have gone to the other side.
  •
If you are pretty sure you will be caught up into the rapture on Saturday, your pets can still be taken care of if you pay $135 to Eternal Earth-Bound Pets

Passengers fed up with inconsiderate cell phone user - 0 views

  •
People are saying "it's about time" that something is finally being done about people who are loud and inconsiderate about technology use. I think people have finally seen how manners with cell phones, etc have spiraled out of control the past ten years.

Beam Me Up! How to Make Your Own Transporter Read more: http://blogcritics.org/scitech... - 1 views

This is evidence that Dr. Burton and my metaphors in class were not in vain. The transporter is the thing that was used when they said, "Beam me up Scotty". And they made that doing a trick with the camera of glitter and water in a glass. BOOYAH

This is an interesting online tool to help students develop their writing skills and maybe even learn to love it. It makes assignments much more relevant.

Malcolm Gladwell - Something Borrowed - 1 views

  •
This has nothing to do with the chick-flick currently in theaters, but we've been talking a lot about copyrights, intellectual property, and technology recently and I was reminded of this article I read about when Gladwell himself was plagiarized and how he handled it.
