Khan Academy would be a great resource for teachers and administrators looking for help with RTI needs. There are sections for every content area where students can test their skills via an online assessment. After several questions, content is adjusted to the specific learning level of the individual student.

Today's student generation is mobile, online and Internet-savvy. They are all computer gurus, and they often engage better with their electronics than they do with paper and pencil. As the saying goes, when you can't beat 'em, join 'em: charge into the information age as a 21 st century teacher.

MERLOT is a free and open peer reviewed collection of online teaching and learning materials and faculty-developed services contributed and used by an international education community. Our middle school is going 1:1 this year and the teachers are encouraged to try blended learning. This site would be helpful for them to help set up their courses.

Nature Publishing Group, publishers of the highly regarded Nature magazine, decided in 2009 to make a sustained effort to overcome questions about the reliability of free materials found on the Internet in life and physical science disciplines. I can see the science department using this site in the classes they are building in Haiku. We have some teachers who are creating blended learning classes and the resources on this page will be helpful. JD

Common Sense Media offers a free Digital Citizen curriculum. It is but together in an iBook that includes quizzes and other interactive pieces.

This is 100 Free Web Tools for Elementary Teachers. They are broken down into categories including reading & writing, math & science, games, research & reference, and organization & collaboration. This would be great to share with educators. If it would be too overwhelming, a few resources from the list could be shared out each week/month with examples.

Had Google Expeditions as a Beta roll-out this past spring.  According to representative the content will be free to educators in the fall & it was a neat way to either introduce a topic or to compare/contrast after students learned about a topic. EEN students were particularly engaged by the visual content.  Very easy to use, just need donated phones...

This module provides professional development opportunities for educators looking to move toward a flipped classroom approach. The module suggests web 2.0 tools for general instruction but also focuses on research.

This article caught my attention as I was considering Open Education Resources. This is a positive use of global learning offerings. It may not be available to all, but certainly might be to those who need it. "Looks like a good news for refugees worldwide as they can now pick from over 1,000 online university courses for absolutely free as part of an endeavor to offer education and skills training under a US-based program. The program was unveiled Monday, June 20 as a part of World Refugee Day."

The Khan Academy has wonderful resources on many topics. The online tutorials are great visual examples of solving various math problems that teachers can utilize in the regular classroom, flipped classroom, tutoring students or online courses. I would also coordinate with the teacher and link these resources to my library websites for students and parents to access.
