TimeToast allows a user (sign-up required) to create interactive timelines that can be viewed in a Flash environment or a text-based list.  Students can enter text, images and links for any event on the timeline and there is a function to create a span of time for longer events.  Once the timeline is published, it can be shared.  For younger students, it might be good to have a classroom account.

Not only does the iPad provide a pivotal tool for effective and engaging group teaching and learning, it has the potential to promote literacy and reading in an innovative and exciting fashion.

"Most of us are in groups all the time. But are these groups learning groups? When does a group become a learning group? Can a group construct its own way of learning? Can documenting children's learning lead to new ways of learning? These are some of the questions addressed in the research project, Making Learning Visible (MLV). MLV draws attention to the power of the group as a learning environment and documentation as a way to see and shape how and what children are learning. MLV is based on collaborative research conducted by Project Zero researchers with teachers from the Municipal Preschools of Reggio Emilia, Italy, and preschool through high school teachers and teacher educators in Massachusetts."

Nice to see that we do all of these things already! As the iPad is currently the 'class leader' in education, there are many educators who have found themselves with an iPad to 'see what it can do?' The challenge is to demonstrate enhanced learning, so here are ten suggestions that may help:

The playfulness is because in that moment of childlike play, you're much more in touch with your unconscious. The second is that when you defer decisions as long as possible, it's giving your unconscious the maximum amount of time to come up with something."

I am designing a class that I am going to teach next year. It is going to have elements of being flipped or simply blended. In any case, I am looking into different ways in which I can assess student learning that goes on during semester, whether in the classroom or out.

Transformion describes the kind of classroom and learning culture I am striving for. Enhancement describes how a resource or change furthers the learning opportunity. Replacement describes how a new resource or change is used instead of, or alongside, an existing resource. The outcome is the same.
