This website offers tutorials that help the writer choose the things that are most important to the comic. In this way, it helps keep the comic concise. It also gives you pointers on how to write in a way that matches the comic - interesting, not boring.

Comic Tutorial Draft - 0 views

  •
Hey guys! I'm a little behind on my work and just now got my comic tutorial draft up. I wanted to see if anyone could do a peer review on it for me, seeing as we need to talk about it in our reflection. I would greatly appreciate it and would be glad to return the favor!

I like this website because it is a fun way to show how alignment is used poorly and how it can be used well. We have all read a comic and understand that the first one on this page is hard to read because of its alignment. So this site shows exactly how important alignment is, and how you can learn to use it correctly.
  •
Oh my this site is so awesome! I think it is really directed towards me; I have been feeling like my comic tutorial is very unorganized and not aligned. This site supplements just a short "comic-like" tutorial on alignment. I just really felt like it was a a little helpful and hopefully I have gotten good insight from it. It gave me a good idea how to organized and align my Glogster page little better

I love the simplicity of this site. It has the skeleton of a normal site around the edges, but then smack dab in the center there is what looks like it could be a page straight out of a comic book. It definitely makes it look like you're in the right place. The makers of this site put emphasis on the iconic Buffy the Vampire Slayer logo. The logo leads you to the left side of the page where the Editor has his comments and then the eye can wander around the rest of the page for the information they came for.

The purpose of project 1 is to design a comic tutorial about a web base networking site. Business writing will help communicate the purpose and goal of the document to your readers. This article will assist me in writing clear, organized, strategic instructions on how to use the networking site. This is my favorite article.

D#7 HW#6 Respecting Copyright - 0 views

  • Briefly review subjects covered in last lesson: plagiarism, proper citation and paraphrasing, honesty and trustworthiness in school research and writing.
  • “Who owns copyrighted materials such as movies, music, and web pages?” Tell students that the copyright owner is the person who created the work, e.g. author, musician, artist, computer program/game creator, scientist-inventor, business person, etc.
  • Next ask the class if they are familiar with the Happy Birthday song. Inform them that this song is protected by copyright
  • ...5 more annotations...
  • Copyright is a form of legal protection given to the authors of books, music, movies, etc. Users of the books may not make copies without permission from the authors except in limited occurrences for school and personal use where there is no profit involved. This limited use is known as Fair Use which we will talk about shortly.
  • The digital aspect of the web allows for wonderful innovations such as MP3 players but ethical personal use must be employed to avoid legal punishment.
  • The RIAA, the professional organization which represents the recording companies, (Recording Industry Association of America), has reacted with copyright infringement legal actions against schools and college students. Have you noticed the warnings posted on music CDs or movie DVDs?
  • Now there are more legal ways for music customers to purchase their music online with services such as iTunes, Rhapsody, amazon.com, etc. There are even some legitimate free music download examples. For example, some unknown bands may provide free previews online. While other more popular bands or singers may post a sample tune for fans to hear for free.
  • Copyright and Fair Use, inform the students that the expert speaker is an attorney that helps students and professors at a university to learn about the ethics and Fair Use guidelines of copying digital information such as music, movies, or web content for school.
  •
This is a good example of how copyright is explained.  The comic shown in this article is very cute and original, gives us an idea of how we can copyright without knowing.

D#5 HW#4 - Clear "how to" Instructions - 0 views

  •
This doesn't have very much context and it's not set up like a usual format where they have tips and advice on how to write clear instructions. The site is interactive and breaks each portion. By clicking on them, it gives more information regarding that topic. The tips given are very useful and will help that my comic tutorial will have all the basic needs of a instructional page should have. Also seeing how the website it was itself gave a great example of what an engaging page is like.

this site wwas really helpful. It made me realize that it is important to keep all instructions clear and simple. especially in a comic tutorial people can get lost easily. It also reminded me to think of the audience before I start my tutorial.

This is the best web site that I have found on writing instruction manuals. It is clear simple and percise. I do not think that supplies will be needed because of the comic format as well as that the only nessisary supplies would be a computer. I think the best take away from this article is to keep it simple.
