Copying and pasting the PATH of AI trainz? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Search for "copy" on the DLS and you find the Copy Commands From (KUID2:192081:1:6). Search for "schedule" and you will find the Schedule Library (KUID2:192081:12:4) along with a few others that may interest you. Make sure that TRS2004 is ticked under the Trainz Versions. Hope that is what you were looking for.
  • For those interested, I downloaded "Copy Commands From" and "Schedule Library" from the Download Station into TRS2009. In Surveyor, open "Edit Sessions Rules" (top left of screen, looks like #), select "Driver Command" from the menu, then Edit. Place a tick against "Copy Commands From". Close this menu. Now click "Add", and add "Schedule Library". Select this and set up the path as as for a normal portal. Give it a name, eg Path1 I'm using Central Portal Control (because it will emit a consist immediately). Open Central Portal Control. Add a consist and driver. Now for the path select Copy Command/Insert/from Library/Path1. Repeat for other consists from this portal. Easy !~! The same procedure can be used for a portal (Surveyor, "?", click on portal) if Central Portal Control is not used. Thanks again. Phil

SP2 Quick Drive Quick Start Guide. - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • SP2 introduces a new feature for placing rolling stock from within Driver. Among its other uses it is quite handy for running a route like a model railroad operating session since you can save your Driver session and restart it again and by using Quick Drive you can make changes to the saved session and continue the session.

Creating & Saving a Scedule in Driver - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Top left of screen, in dropdown surveyor menu select edit session, then in new window select driver commands, in next new window click on add then scroll down till you find schedule library select it and click on the green tick. You will also need the (copy commands from) command found the same way. Don't forget to name and save your schedule so you can recognise it next time you want to use it
  • Append attaches commands after commands that are already in the driver's command line, insert places a whole string of new commands.
  • I don't have TS2009 yet but since no one else has tried to help yet i'll give it a go. Once you have loaded the map you want you will have to place at least one loco before you can start a schedule. Placing the loco should aut

  • May I add a little note re the "append" and "insert" selection. I have used this method a few times and found some interesting results when applied to different types of Schedules.

Splitting a train automatically - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Ive been doing this for years, dont use a trigger as another train can sometimes set it off. You need a spare driveable asset (I use a car parked in the station car park), it will need a driver which you set up with all the commands for the tasks he will do as the second train. You need two trackmarks at each end of station named say P1 Dn and P1 Up. You will need the commands Post Message and Wait for Message and clear also the move to train at trackmark. Dont use move to train as the commands dont go with the driver. Add to the start of spare drive the command Wait for Message.

Drive to Trackmark List - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • I have a situation in a session where I need AI trains to drive to one of four possible refuel points. The target trackmark must of course be unoccupied. I Have downloaded the driver command 'Drive To Trackmark List' (Kuid2:61392:1050:?) which appears to offer the solution.
  • Hi Andy and thanks for your interest in my DriveToTrackMarkList driver command. to use it to drive to one of your 4 refuel points, you need first to add under surveyor a trackmark to each of your refuel points and name each trackmark like : myrefuelpoint(1) myrefuelpoint(2) myrefuelpoint(3) myrefuelpoint(4) and save your route.

How do iportals work? [Archive] - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Try the Portal Timetable Rule found on the DLS. http://www.openspeedway.net/files/pics/ptr.jpg You can set which portal you want it to come out of with "Emitting Portal You can set what time it comes out with "Add New Timetable" You can set what train comes out with "Add an existing saved consist" You can select a driver with "Add Driver to Consist" You can use the command bar to add and save commands for the AI to follow. To add another train just click on the "I" box at the bottom.

Shunt signals - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • For Trainz AI control of shunting moves it's no so much the signalling as the use of Trackmarks and Driver commands such as "Drive to Trackmark" and "Couple at Trackmark" that you need to look at. You may also need to use invisible signals to help the AI.

Can a scenario be created WITHOUT the ability for drivers to control trains? - Trainz D... - 0 views

The route can be modified if you do want to sit back and watch it all happen under programmed AI. All that you need to do is start at one extremity of the AI route. I'd suggest at Portal cH:

  • drive to and drive via will not work with select part you have to autodrive or TPR drive hope this helps

Couple Command Problem - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Have you looked at the Couplez command? I think this allows for a longer list.
  • Atilabarut's 'Couple to vehicle facing trackmark' allows any distance between the vehicle and the trackmark. I have found it near bombproof... Andy
  • CoupleToVFacingTrackmark. The trackmark does have to be the correct way around, but otherwise never a hint of a problem in 06, though I guess there could be an issue if you are using a later version. Andy...
  • ...1 more annotation...
  • CoupleToVehicle,<kuid:131986:210003> Driver command that couples the train to a vehicle in the scene. This command is exactly the same as the original couple command except that it allows coupling to any vehicle in the scene, provided that the vehicle allows coupling and that it is free for coupling at the time this command is issued.

Trains stopping at stations - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • if you use the copy command from (library) it's one command per lap if you will. you have to set this up in surveyor under edit session. download schedule library command, then add this to your list of driver commands for the session(copy commands from). add schedule library to the main list then edit this with a list of commands as per your question. very handy if you've got 5-6 different sets of commands that you use often. _______________

Operate turntables - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Yes, there is one on the DLS. I have used it with 2004 and 2006, but have not yet tried ot with 2009. I do not forsee any problems though, as all driver commands I have tried so far in 2009, and I use a lot of them, work just fine. It is called "Move Turntable", and the kuid is: KUID2: 131986:180156:1
  • The kuid is on the DLS make sure you select all versions. You will also need the Input table KUID:131986:1012. Name your turntable and enter the information into the input table as turntable, name,? The ? being the number of movements the turntable you are using can move befoer it gets back to its start position.

Two Questions. 1.Sound... 2.LARS - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Your cattle question...the reason you can't send your AI driver to the packing plants is the way the layout is setup for the Class 1 trains that are running. If you look at the layout in Surveyor you will see that there are direction arrows so they keep to their tracks. What I did was save the layout under a different name and do away with the Class 1(remove the portals) and use the tracks for normal dual track setup. Remove the direction arrows and sort out the signals and you have a great railroad freight system that can run from one end of the layout to the other with a number of consists at the same time. I still keep an original version of the layout because I enjoy doing the great sessions that Phil has created. There is a flour hopper on the DLS, VR VPFX kuid 2:1854:1596:1 O So Lite. There is also a plain one, kuid 2:1854:1595:1. Another hopper you might find handy is the VR JX kuid 50567:108979
  • I'll try to work more with that Beth gondola 86311:999116 and looking at the config.txt, although I think I'm not informed enough to understand that stuff yet, BUT maybe I could understand it!

How do I set a trigger? - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Additionally, there are commands available that will check the status of industries, then once they need servicing you can have a train deliver to them or pick up from them.
  • You might check out atilabarut's message rules. Download these and read: PostMessage,<kuid:131986:210002> WaitForMessage,<kuid:131986:1029> WaitForMessage,<kuid:131986:210005> You can put these rules in the driver schedule without the need for programming expertise.

Portals - Trainz Discussion Forums - 0 views

  • Happy to detail the Basic Portal setup that I have used to get 40 - 50 car consists emerging from, on the route I use on TRS2006. Please note that this is what works for me and therefore may not work for you. The portal is sited on straight track that runs for nearly 3 baseboards with at least one (1) junction along the length of track and one 04 signal (absolute) protecting that junction. The back end of the portal is 140 metres in from the far edge of the board in approximately the middle of the edge. The business end of the portal is approximately 1420 metres from the signal and the signal is a further 50 metres from the junction. From the junction to the join in the baseboard with the rest of the layout is another 210 metres approximately.
  • ou need to programme the commands you want when you set the trains up in the portal config box. The portal config box is opened when you select the ? of the scenery tab and click on your portal. All in surveyor of course.
  • To save you constructing lots of repetitive commands, you could set up a series of commands using the "schedule library" rule which you need to add to your session, and then activate the "copy commands from" in the driver commands. Both accessed via the "edit session rules" icon in surveyor. You can then use the "copy commands from" instruction in the portal dialog box to copy your pre-constructed commands over from the schedule library you set up previously
