I used TRS2006 CMP to clone ATSF C44-9W,<kuid2:113556:2915:1> then opened it for Edit in Explorer. Changed it to a piece of rolling stock by editing the config.txt file as follows:
1. Change the Category-Class to XB
2. Change the enginespec to kuid:-1:42004201
3. Change engine 1 to engine 0
4. Deleted the enginesound and enginehorn lines
5. Deleted the script and class lines
6. Edit the kuid-table to agree with the items deleted.
Save and commit.

That industry appears to be created for TRS2006 according to the DS.
Change the build number in the config to 2.4 and it should work fine, unless he's used some of the newer scripting features of TRS2006, which is doubtful.
Smiley.
Hi,
For DCC, you need to increase the "max-accel" parameter in the motor section of the engine config. The built-in class 40 is set to 18000 as standard, try something in 20,000 - 30,000 range. If you are importing engines from TR06 the "max-accel" parameter will be set at something like quarter of what it needs to be in TC3. You need to change this to get the locos to work properly in TC3.

"After running the PM2IM routine to create an .im file, then deleting the .pm file, I still always get the error about progressive meshes. It's like in some file other than the config.txt there is some reference to the old .pm file. This occurs every time I try replacing .pm with .im files, no matter what asset. Is there some step I'm missing, besides creating the .im file?

Happy to detail the Basic Portal setup that I have used to get 40 - 50 car consists emerging from, on the route I use on TRS2006. Please note that this is what works for me and therefore may not work for you.
The portal is sited on straight track that runs for nearly 3 baseboards with at least one (1) junction along the length of track and one 04 signal (absolute) protecting that junction.
The back end of the portal is 140 metres in from the far edge of the board in approximately the middle of the edge. The business end of the portal is approximately 1420 metres from the signal and the signal is a further 50 metres from the junction. From the junction to the join in the baseboard with the rest of the layout is another 210 metres approximately.
ou need to programme the commands you want when you set the trains up in the portal config box. The portal config box is opened when you select the ? of the scenery tab and click on your portal. All in surveyor of course.
To save you constructing lots of repetitive commands, you could set up a series of commands using the "schedule library" rule which you need to add to your session, and then activate the "copy commands from" in the driver commands. Both accessed via the "edit session rules" icon in surveyor. You can then use the "copy commands from" instruction in the portal dialog box to copy your pre-constructed commands over from the schedule library you set up previously
Jeff,
I downloaded that kuid and get this error window:
Warning: Tag 'autoanimation' in the container 'scenery' is obsolete.
Warning: The *.texture.txt file is missing for texture resource 'C:\Program Files\Auran\TS2009/local/hash-E7/content 985rc5j735/wave.texture'.
Error: The Tag 'credit:' is not permitted within a container of type 'scenery'.
Error: The Tag 'thanks' is not permitted within a container of type 'scenery'.
Notice that the first 2 lines are warnings, not errors. They have a yellow triangle with an ! in it. This means you can ignore them. The last two lines start with a red circle with a white X in it and are errors.
The assets will work as is but if you want to get rid of the 'errors', edit the config.txt file to delete the offending lines.
I've put together a little demo - mouse click on this link and download the file:
http://rapidshare.com/files/211284902/KRL_demo.cdp
The cdp file contains the test route, a test session and all the dependencies for the freight car. Just drag and drop the cdp file into the main pane of CM2.
I downloaded/commited Philskene's KRL 7 pieces for this asset. All show a yellow puzzle piece with ?. View errors & warnings all show the .pm mesh nolonger unsupported statement and #4 also has a missing black.texture statement in its load_mesh folder.
The View Dependencies shows missing bogies :128 and :129. I wonder why CM2 didn't automatically download them since they are dependencies.
I download/committed the 2 bogies, :128 shows error can't load shadow/shadow.pm.
Looked at the :128 bogey file contents but there's no shadow folder or mesh. The easiest correction for this type of error is to add a mesh-table container to the config.txt file to reference the .pm mesh that is there. Also made a small (32x32) black square .jpg and a black.texture.txt file for the load_mesh folder. Saved and committed.
Now, all 7 kuids only show the yellow ! because of the .pm meshes but tried them out and all can be place on a track in Surveyor.
Your cattle question...the reason you can't send your AI driver to the packing plants is the way the layout is setup for the Class 1 trains that are running. If you look at the layout in Surveyor you will see that there are direction arrows so they keep to their tracks. What I did was save the layout under a different name and do away with the Class 1(remove the portals) and use the tracks for normal dual track setup. Remove the direction arrows and sort out the signals and you have a great railroad freight system that can run from one end of the layout to the other with a number of consists at the same time. I still keep an original version of the layout because I enjoy doing the great sessions that Phil has created.

I have examined the source, that is the config files for the Drive and Navigate Commands in both TRS 2006 and 2009 and pasted the descriptions below. Please NOTE that the 2006 Drive commands are renamed the Navigate commands in 2009 (the KUID's are the same
