This website is for teachers to link with other teachers. There are forums, blogs, and many other resources. There are many options for teachers to use, as well as many links to other informational and educational websites. I did notice a few pop up ads while browsing through the site, so I see that as a downfall.

5 Best Practices for the Flipped Classroom - 0 views

  •
This is a website that is there to help teachers really think about the flipped classroom and how they could make it work effectively and smoothly. It talks about what you need to know about it, how to use engaging models, brings to mind the technology you would use to incorporate it, making sure students have an activity to reflect on what they learned, and the time and place in which the teacher would expect the student to do the tutorial. This does not say the flipped classroom is bad, it simply brings reality to it and forces the teacher to analyze how they will best implement it.

The Flipped Classroom: Pro and Con - 1 views

  •
The author thinks that the "flipped classroom" is forcing teachers to reflect on their practice and how they reach their students. It inspires teachers to change how they do things and motivating them to bring technology into the classroom. The Pro is students can go at their own pace, review what they need, teacher able to spend more time with students who need help, and missed lessons can be viewed. The Con is access to technology, students spending more time in front of a screen, and not everyone learns through video.

The author likes the concept of web learning, but feels the content is missing from Khan Academy. The students need to see their own teachers style, teachers own example of how to work through, own teachers mastering technology and online publish, and this needs to happen faster.

Very useful for an educator, the site offers research on how to organize instruction, what works in the classroom, and improving teacher quality as well as providing resources on lessons plans. This site would also be particularly important to teachers needing to correlate their lesson plans to national standards.

Assigned Site: New Teacher Survival - 1 views

Outstanding site! Too bad I didn't have this my first year. I'm bookmarking it and using anyway. It has how to incorporate technology into your classroom, grade specific activities, links to get science apps, blogs from other teachers. There's a lot of information on the page and many links to follow. If you're looking for ideas or want to revise your current methods whether classroom management or incorporating new techniques and/or technology this site would be a great place to start.
