I love this activity so much! It covers multiple standards, but the one I am focusing on is 1.M.3. For this activity, students combine their skills of telling time AND finding the value of money(coins). I would not glue the coins to the clock like the directions say because I would want the students to be able to find multiple ways of using coins to find different times on the clock.

This is a YouTube video titled "Being a Good Citizen Narration". A book like this is one I would read to my students to teach them what being a good citizen means and ways they can be good citizens themselves (social studies standard 1.2.3).

To cover science standard 1.4.3, I would love to have my students build this ant habitat in a jar for the classroom. From this, students could observe the lifestyle of an ant and all the hard work they do. Drawing a replica of what they see in their jar would be a great art activity to combine with this idea.

To cover standard 1.M.2, I found an interactive game for first graders to practice reading digital clocks. There are levels for telling hours, half hours, and quarters of time. I played it myself and even enjoyed it!

A dog is divided into 3 parts, front, middle, and back. Students have to place the picture on the correct section of the dog depending on where the letter being worked on occurs in the corresponding word to the picture. This activity could be used for standard 1.RF.3.4. Modifications to the activity would have to be made so that one syllable words were being used instead of words containing multiple syllables. Students could complete this activity during center/free time.

I love this weekly lesson plan template! It contains room for mapping out the day during each subject area, room for the objectives at the bottom of each day, room for standards met, room for materials needed, and room for assessments. Unfortunately, there is not a section for revision ideas, but that can always be written in by hand.

This is also a daily lesson plan, but for five subject areas instead of just one! Because it has room for five subjects, it has less room for a more detailed plan for each subject area, though. This lesson plan template is a good one to use for outlining your day in general and for quick reference to throughout your day.

This is a lesson plan for one subject area and contains the basic areas of standards, objectives, needed materials, outline, resources, activity, assignment, evaluation, and notes. This could be used by any teacher for any grade level.

If you scroll down to page 10 of this pdf file, you will find the start of a lengthy unit theme lesson plan template. It gives you step by step templates on what to do and even supplies certificates of achievement to pass out to students at the end.

My first bookmark for this week is a more generic, but I think it is awesome. This website gives you links to 10 apps teachers can use for lesson planning! Now you do not have to fuss with papers and this is a great use of technology for the benefit of the classroom.

E-newsletters are a great way to get the latest news with the click of a button. This website gives you access to eight different educational e-newsletters that are quick and convenient to access.

As shared in the podcast we listen to, teachers can further develop themselves by attending seminars, classes, workshops, etc. This website provides FREE online workshops for educators on a variety of topics.

The scholastic website has useful tools for teachers ranging from online learning activities for students in all subject areas to lesson plan ideas for teachers. This link takes you to scholastic articles on how to get involved with the parents of your students, which we know can help your professional development by reaching out to others in the community!

This Pinterest board gives insight to thirteen websites that teachers can utilize for developing professionally! Each of these websites contain other links too, so really this one board can lead you to countless resources.
